Lois Harbaugh Ceramics

Lois Harbaugh Ceramics My work explores the ceramic vessel -- its forms, its functions, its symbolic capacities. I use several high fire porcelains -- my favorite is Southern Ice.

It is a very white clay body that looks icy blue with a clear glaze. It does, however warp easily. The work is fired to cone 10 in a gas kiln at Kirkland Arts Center by KAC tech, Pat Colyar. My low fire work is fired in an electric kiln at my home studio in Bellevue, WA.
