Marketing materials. The phrase gets used to mean anything printed, and that reading leaves out the half that actually determines whether any of it works.
Here's the definition that does real work: marketing materials are every printed and digital asset a business uses to present itself, functioning as one coordinated visual system.
A business card, a brochure, and a flyer can each be well-designed and still fail to build a coherent impression, if they were scoped as three separate briefs.
They only work as intended when every touchpoint, print and digital, speaks the same visual language as the website.
That's why the Franco's Exteriors project was scoped as a single system from the start. The high-performance website build and the marketing materials support were treated as one deliverable, not two.
One system. One language.
That is what "marketing materials" actually means when the definition is doing any real work.
If your print and digital assets were built separately, it may be worth asking whether they're actually speaking the same language 💡
