self-care is a non-negotiable when you are an End Of Life Doula in private practice.

It’s not a matter of if we become affected with a case it’s when. We must be aware at all times of how we feel as we’re serving and it’s our responsibility to handle whatever our emotions are that are intense or somehow get our attention.

If we don’t, we will become belligerent as we try to avoid our own feelings, they will get in the way.

Our only choice is to deal with them and we will heal. It is a Healer’s journey.

There’s a way to be honest about your experience level and not give away all your credibility.

It’s often not lack of time or energy or money to pursue your desire to create something special to offer families at the end of life. People say that, but what they often tell me when they’re honest is that they’re really afraid they’re going to mess something up.

Join us Thursday 3/26 to talk about what's holding you back.

Issues of fees and payments and service boundaries and contracts can be a simple matter of just filling out what your mind and research says to do however, I would say 75% of it is determined by your emotional comfort with your work and your self-esteem and your wounding.

You really need a guided journey of just what an End Of Life Doula practice would look like for you, a place where you can ask questions create your own service (at least on paper) and figure some things out like if this is even for you - Before you go investing hundreds of hours and thousands of dollars. The pro Doula classroom link is in my B I O.😎

You don’t need me to list all the benefits to your life when you finally invest in yourself and have your own end of life unique service. You can feel it in your bones how good that would feel to be living your purpose. And anyway, the big “why” we each do this is very personal. It would be presumptious of me to assume for you. You know if you want to do End Of Life Doula work. The real question is ‘where do I go to learn how to do this right?’ The answer is -> if you resonate with me, come on, I’ll teach you everything I know.

It takes way more than certification. You need to know what you’re doing.

So good to be with my brother and sister, altogether for the first time since my dad died (2years ago)…

There are more things more important than if you’re an expert in the medical field or end of life service when you begin End Of Life Doula work than that. 90% of it is, do you have a passion for this,? Do you have the desire to make the dying time better? Do you have good handle on what it takes to take care of yourself? I can help you with whatever you lack and keep you safe in your service. You don’t need to be an expert to be a fantastic Doula.n

The myth of 24/7 service is damaging. It can keep a kind, generous soul from being able to give what they can.

We must be responsible and we must be our own families, especially if they don’t come through a familiar referral source. Consider yourself like a realtor. Stay safe. -employed
