So definitely not a fan of the wartime economy. Is it gonna be over anytime soon?
Went from being a solid member of the middle class to wondering. If i'm gonna have to apply for job, which definitely won't work out well, because I've been in my field for 37 years and been running my own business
For almost thirty years.
I don't think I am capable of punching somebody else's time clock i i can operate as a subcontractor.
But unless the pay package and insurance and perks were absolutely off the charts i just don't see me being able to take another job as an employee. After being the boss for so very long makes you terrible employee.
I ended having too much knowledge in a trade. Also makes you a terrible employee.
I've been doing this for too long and working for myself.Too long, so being in an employee in the natural stone industry is a nope.
I still haven't given up. Because my mama raised me to never give up.
I've been dividing, i've lost twenty five pounds. Mostly avoiding processed foods in well nowadays.. because when work pitch back up for me.
I'm playing on going at it stronger and healthier than I have been for the last couple of years.
In the last two years period I discovered that I had diabetes and had to make a lot of changes.
Take away my ice cream , and my cookie, some milk at night. (Mostly)
Wartime economy.
Makes my clientele with their multiple high end cars.In the driveway, not feel like they need my services.
I mean, seriously.
When you're in a $15 million house, just asking to make $400 or $600 for your repairs or service
On extremely expensive, natural stone. But then they use the, I mean, seriously folks. If you don't keep up the maintenance on it, it gets damaged very quickly. And then I have to charge a whole lot of money to fix it.
I do repairs in kitchens, where the island and the countertops cost well over fifty thousand dollars.
But sealer maintenance was declined because it cost too much money.
The i have a good client base. They come back to me a few years for service work.
One of my friends told me that he may be getting a new job at restoration company that does grout, cleaning and ceiling and such. He's never done this a day in his life.I.
He says they're offering them.Twenty seven dollars an hour to start.
And a company vehicle in uniform and insurance.
I am too far gone of a creature. I could never go and punch a time clock again..
I am corrupted by skill within my trade. That I can never be told to do my job again. No company could sit down.Show me a training video. And unless they had somebody working up twenty twenty five years minimum, just to be able to talk to me in proper terms.
I am unemployable over skilled overtrained with too much equipment and too much experience and too much knowledge of the trade.
I think my only option is to open up
My company with all the insurance and everything else that is no choir
And once I have all my teas crossed and my eyes dotted, then I will become their worst nightmare.
