It starts with looking within yourself…....

Imposter syndrome are feelings of self doubt that never seem to stop regardless of your success. ‘Imposters’ suffer from constant self-doubt and a sense of fraudulence that takeover feelings of success or achievements. Despite any success in the field, imposters always seem to downplay skills and talents. High achieving, highly successful people often suffer, so imposter syndrome doesn’t equal low self-esteem or a lack of self-confidence. Studies have actually linked it with perfectionism, especially in women.

Here are some of the best ways you can handle imposter syndrome and believe in yourself:

• Recognize imposter feelings when they happen.
• Change your inner perspectives.
• Talk about your feelings.
• Refocus on the positives.
• Seek support and talk to friends and family.
• Visualize your success daily.

Stop overthinking and just do!

Many of us struggle with balancing thoughts and actions. When you spend to much time thinking and planning without action you often lose. The key is moving to start, moving to progress, moving PERIOD.

Doing involves risk but it’s the only way to make progress. Momentum comes through actions, so do something that moves you forwards. Even a small act is significant.

“Everyone I approached was skeptical. There wasn't one person who said, "Yeah, that can happen." I heard "Just do one thing really well and then you can expand" a lot. But I wanted this to be a whole lifestyle brand. Everyone I talked with in Hollywood could not wrap their heads around the idea. Whenever I tried to sit down with them about it, they would just get this glazed look on their faces. Entertainment is a totally different business. It's like, how do you squeeze the most out of a person for five seconds, and then you move on to the next one. It's hard for people to take anyone seriously who's never done this before. They see you only as something else. But all that just gave me fire to move forward.
I approached this guy who built the top-selling accessories brand at Macy's. We're friends, and he was trying to help me figure out how to execute on this idea. But he built his brand off of one item and then expanded. He found traditional retail partners and then opened his own stores. He didn't understand how to build this thing from scratch. Friends want to help you, but they're also going to be the most critical. We launched with 17 products. Even my husband, Cash, thought the idea was too big.
It took me three years to find my business partners. You have to be brutally honest with yourself and understand your strengths and weaknesses. I'm not a business person--I'm a mom. I wasn't going to be coding. I wasn't going to be in the lab mixing potions. (Though I do test all the products on my kids!) I wasn't going to be the one doing the business model and running the operation. If I went in there and said, "Hey, I'm going to put together this business from scratch all by myself," I'm sure it would have been a lot more difficult to get VCs to take me seriously, but once you have the right partners, it isn't. Having the right partners also means having people you like. They're all people I wouldn't mind getting stuck with at an airport for five hours. We can hang and have a beer and chat it up, or stay silent together and be totally cool with that. That's really important.”_ Jessica Alba speaking to inc’s Lindsay Blakely

Studies have shown that people that ask for more tend to receive more, so why not ask for that additional raise you have been thinking about? Before you start negotiations take a minute and consider what is your worth in the job market, within your current company and your personal performance on the job. Studies have shown that workers with high job meaning, high job satisfaction, and low stress were more likely to report that they didn’t negotiate based on being happy with their salary, compared to workers with low job meaning, low job satisfaction, and high stress. One of the first initiatives you should take after determining your worth is gauging where you stand in terms of performance measures. Ask yourself how well do you stack in performance measures, what is the general management attitude towards your capabilities? Then measure the current conditions of the company, is it growing? Stagnant? Learning how well or poor the company is performing will help you better understand your odds for a raise and more importantly the future of you employment. Lastly, consider market trends within the industry. How well is the industry adjusting, growing, and adapting to challenges? Is the industry under a huge threat (think retail and the amazon effect). A strong understanding of all these factors will help you improve your odds of a more beneficial salary negotiation and ultimately arm you with information to make the right career choices with good timing in your favor.

Jayz and the seem like a nightmare or dream depending how you look at it. Why would the music mogul from Marcy partner with the infamously racist organization that once unofficially banned black players for 13 years(the league lifted the ban in 1946, teams still blocked African-Americans from playing quarterback). Why would JayZ go against who faced injustices and civil rights violations to partner with the very same organization he once denounced, “I said no to the Super Bowl: You need me, I don’t need you” on his hit “apesh*t”?

Given the lack of & within the league, we should all try to be more receptive of the social activism agenda the NFL and have agreed to develop in hopes to provide more opportunities for diversity and inclusion. The time for action is long overdue and despite the exclusion of we should rejoice in the efforts while also holding the NFL and Rocnation for real ownership and workplace demographic change not just extravagant press releases from one of america's largest and oldest symbols of hatred and oppression built of the talents of players. We love hearing from you, drop a comment below.

For many African Americans and Latinos in STEM majors the lack of representation has left them with a constant hidden sense of anxiety, a direct result from the lack of representation and the pressures that come with having to be the singular voice of your demographic. Many minority students have constantly fought for the ability to be counted as equals without the need to overperform other students in the same fields that don’t have the same burdens.

Home to the second-fastest-growing economy in the country (behind San Francisco), spurred by its tech industry, which accounts for nearly 12.5% of the city’s revenues, Atlanta has emerged as a powerhouse for a diverse ecosystem not found anywhere else in america. This climate has bred a new class of both home grown and transplant talent ranging from influential serial entrepreneur ( labs), of Walker and Company, Jewel Burks Solomon Of partpic, and the dynamic duo of TK Peterson and Ryan Wilson’s private-membership club,

Although Atlanta has become the greatest and most important city for diversity and economic prosperity for minorities the city faces continued pressure and challenges from inside and outside of the city. Will Atlanta continue to be the cultural and technological epicenter for economic prosperity? How will Atlanta grow and adjust to this new attention from many prominent outside VCs as they eye the growing tech startup ecosystem emerging today?
We want to hear from you! Leave a comment below and tell us What you think.
