Back in Ohio for 4 days and there is nothing but rain and gray skies predicted for the next 10 days. Patio furniture is still in storage, Blackstone still packed away, bikes still on the rack and I’ve worn my rain boots everyday (1st time in 7 months) and it’s only the first week ! UGH!!! There was a nice sunset last night so I ran out in the cold (55 degrees) to take this picture for everyone.

The “G.O.A.T.” Of ALL Harvest Host in our opinion. THE BEST crazy fun Beer and great food. Big open spaces to park, level and safe with a beautiful sunset views. BUT, THE BEER…is next level when it comes to craft beer. People drive from all over to come here. Their beer is being shipped all over the country as well and when you know you know. We found it in a Florida bar because I spotted in a bar fridge by the crazy graphics on the can. I think we drink them out of one flavor!! LOL

Spending 5 nights on the road from Harvest host to Harvest Host is fun and it’s also exhausting moving every day. When we get the chance to stop for a few days and visit with friends, we do it!!!

Last night we weren’t treated to a home cooked delicious meal. We enjoyed sitting on their deck just relaxing over dinner. Met some new canine faces 🐶 🐶, caught up with Ms. Lucy and heard about her future plans all while being surrounded by some pretty flowers and plants. What a welcome change from travel life. Missed your Sarah Varnes but see you soon!!!
Now, can we talk about that lamb and risotto 💕 simple and yet the best meal in a while! I must learn to make this risotto 🧐 Cheers to our chef Chris Koller! 👏 🍷

Harvest Hosts #5 Playtime Arcade & Bar in Wentzville, MO

This was not our planned stop but weather impacted our travel today. So, we pivot and found this host that welcomed us in on short notice. We did not arrive early enough really enjoy the ax throwing, laser tag or arcade but the bar was welcoming !!!🍻🍷🍸🍹 We had their pizza and some drinks. Everything was good and the staff were very nice. If you have children THIS is your spot for an overnight where the kids get to play and run off energy!!! Parking is big rig friendly and there is a nice grass area to walk your dog or let your kids play safely away from the street. It was a very quiet safe overnight.

Night #4 of Harvest Hosts is Roantree Farm Kansas, where they raise and sell Lamb, yarn made for goat and sheep fiber, leather goods and much more. We were greeted by a few barn cats and the view of a few rescued horses and donkeys. The donkey gave us a nice Hee Haw to let us know to come and say hello. We go a tour of the farm and stocked up on some fresh lamb (one of our favorites) and I could not leave without YARN!!!! Y’all know I love animals of all kinds so I had a nice visit with these horses and donkeys, the goats and sheep were busy so I left them alone. It was a peaceful night and we enjoyed our stay!

Night 3 of our Harvest Hosts adventure is Wild K Ranch. A small family owned bison ranch where your campsite has views of the bison herd while they are out at pasture. It is quiet with views for miles and miles of open pastures. The offered fresh eggs, bison meat and we took advantage of both. There is nothing like cooking breakfast overlooking the farm!!! Harvest Hosts #2 is Cody Farm near The Colorado Farm Brewery in Alamosa, Colorado

This is a historic farm and malting company that brews craft beer made completely with the crops harvested on the farm. True Farm to Glass 🍺 and we love everything about this concept.

They have a big outdoor area complete with fire pit tables to keep you comfortable. The beer was excellent and the parking situation was very easy to get in and find a level spot. We were greeted by a herd of cows across the road. They were eager to come to the fence and check us out. We had a fun night talking to the staff and were welcomed by the owners. The views of the Colorado sunsets and landscape here were so beautiful that we will be coming back this way on our next trip this way. The drive here was so beautiful and we saw a few coyotes running thru the vast valley. The sign said “ELK CROSSING” but we did not see any, story of my life it seems….I just want to see one that is alive!!!! Maybe next time.
