Congratulations to Shana Reid, the North Augusta Chamber of Commerce's 2026 Woman Who EmpowHERs! 👏

Shana, Chief Development Officer at SRP Federal Credit Union, was selected from an outstanding group of nine nominees whose leadership and service reflect the spirit of this award. What makes her an EmpowHER? She invests in people by recognizing potential, creating opportunities for others to grow, and making sure the people around her feel seen, valued, and supported. Her nomination described her as the kind of leader who doesn't seek the spotlight, but helps others step into it.

Meta was proud to serve as Technology Sponsor for this year's event. Celebrating the women who lift up others is one of the best parts of being a part of this community. Congratulations to all nine nominees who remind us what happens when women intentionally encourage, connect, and open doors for one another.

What a weekend in Aiken! 🎉

Meta was proud to sponsor the 41st Annual SEED STEM Festival at the Ruth Patrick Science Center at USC Aiken, where more than 3,600 people came out to Explore, Discover and Imagine through science, technology, engineering, and math.

Families spent the day with hands-on activities and talked directly with the scientists, engineers, educators, and students who do this work every day. The curiosity across campus was something to see — and it was a good reminder of what's possible when a community shows up for its students.

For 41 years, the SEED STEM Festival has connected our community to STEM, and we're grateful to have played a part in continuing that tradition. Thank you to the festival organizers, the volunteers, and USC Aiken for making it happen.

Being good neighbors is a top priority everywhere we operate data centers, and investing in STEM education right here in Aiken is one of the best ways we know to do that.

Here's to year 42! 👏

As a proud new neighbor in Aiken, we want to invest in what makes this community strong: its schools, its nonprofits, and the local organizations working every day to make this a great place to live and work.

That's why we're glad to introduce the Future is for Everyone Fund. It's Meta's $1 billion commitment to invest directly in the U.S. communities that host a Meta data center, and starting now, organizations in Aiken can apply.

What is it? The Fund awards grants to local projects and organizations across four focus areas:

* Community Enhancement: the shared spaces and services that bring people together, from parks, trails, and gathering places to connectivity and support for first responders like police, firefighters, and paramedics.

* Economic Vitality: supporting the people and organizations that power local economies — helping workers gain the skills, certifications, and hands-on experience the modern economy rewards, and backing initiatives that create jobs and give a community its character.

* Education: programs, tools, and spaces that help learners of every age discover what they're capable of, from early literacy and the arts to hands-on science and technology, plus resources for the educators who make it happen.

* Sustainability: caring for the land, water, and wildlife that make this area home, including habitat restoration and conservation that connect people to the natural world.

How to apply: The open call runs September 14 through October 19. Learn more about the Fund, eligibility, and how to apply at http://datacenters.atmeta.com/fife.

We're just getting started here, and we're looking forward to partnering with the people and organizations already making a difference in Aiken.

We’re excited to spotlight one of our recent Meta Community Action Grant recipients: the North Augusta Family Y!

With support from Meta, the North Augusta Y is creating a brand new STEAM-focused youth space designed to spark curiosity and inspire the next generation of innovators. This dynamic environment gives children and teens a place to explore, experiment, and grow through hands-on learning in science, technology, engineering, arts, and math.
Because of this partnership, over the past summer, 196 kids participated in STEAM activities, and the after-school program is serving about 100 kids each week.

By expanding access to quality out-of-school learning, the North Augusta Y is helping foster excitement, build skills, and support working families with enriching experiences for local kids. We’re proud to support their mission and can’t wait to see the impact this new space will have in our community!

Last week in Greenville, Meta was proud to join leaders from across South Carolina for the final workshop in Sustain SC’s 2026 Energy and Water Series: “Balancing the Load: Data Center Energy and Water Strategies.”

As a corporate member of Sustain SC—a non-partisan, non-profit organization connecting corporate sustainability goals with local economic and environmental solutions—we’re committed to bridging the gap between commerce and conservation. Our Community Engagement Regional Manager joined a panel to dispel common misconceptions about data center water use and highlight innovative practices to reduce and recycle water on campuses like ours in Aiken County.

The workshop brought legislators, utility leaders, data center operators, public agencies, conservation organizations, and university researchers all together to discuss solutions in one room. The volume of misinformation is massive, and most of it is out of date. Collaboration, trust building, and transparency are the path forward.

Thank you to Sustain SC for your leadership in ensuring a successful future where business and conservation thrive in our state!

Recently, we celebrated the ribbon cutting of the Born Learning Trail at Beverly D. Clyburn Generations Park, home to Aiken’s first STEAM Trail!

This innovative trail blends Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM) with outdoor play, creating fun, hands-on learning experiences for children and families across our community.

Thank you to United Way of Aiken County, Inc. for making this a reality. We are proud to support their Success by 6 program to encourage early childhood development. Their commitment to education, exploration, and community enrichment made this new amenity possible for the City of Aiken, South Carolina Parks, Recreation and Tourism.
