Heads up, brands. 2027 equestrian sponsorship season is already taking shape.

Thinking about equestrian sponsorships for 2027? September is a very good time to start the conversation.

This is the time of year when next year’s budgets begin taking shape, competition calendars become clearer, event opportunities start opening, and brands begin talking with athletes and partners.

Starting these conversations now gives everyone more room to build something thoughtful together. The brand can get clear about the audience it wants to reach, the athlete or event can bring ideas and opportunities to the table, and the sponsorship can be planned around shared goals for the year ahead.

That early planning also creates so many more possibilities for the partnership. Athlete content can support campaigns throughout the season. Event appearances can introduce the brand to new customers. Product education can help retailers and riders understand the value. Stories from the partnership can carry into social media, email, e-commerce, PR, paid advertising, and the wider equestrian community.

A strong equestrian sponsorship can build familiarity, trust, useful content, customer relationships, retail interest, and a lasting place for the brand within the sport. Giving it time to develop makes the investment more valuable for everyone involved.

So, while September may feel early for 2027, it is a wonderful month to begin thinking about what your brand wants to accomplish in the equestrian space, who could help bring that vision to life, and what you could create together.

One question can change your entire business.
What turns your visibility into leads and sales?

A lot of businesses are visible but have no reliable way to generate demand.

You post on socials, network in person or online, and wait for referrals, but have never built a measurable route from the target audience to a qualified service lead or completed sale.

A potential customer needs a clear route from:
“I’ve heard of them”

“I’m ready to call, book, request a quote, or buy.”

I help businesses build the route from
➡ Genuine Attention
➡ Real Traffic
➡ Qualified Leads
➡ Actual Sales

With measurement to understand your ROI.

Something keeps coming up in client conversations lately. No matter what kind of business, someone eventually asks me:

“How do we get found on ChatGPT?”

It makes sense. People are changing the way they look for things. They are asking AI to help them find a contractor or service nearby, compare products, and decide what feels right for them.

That means the way people discover your business is changing too.

Think about what would happen today if someone asked ChatGPT for exactly what you offer, in the area you serve, with the experience you have.

Would your business be part of the answer?

That question lands differently when you have spent years building a reputation, taking care of customers, learning your field, and becoming genuinely good at what you do. You know the value is there. The people who have worked with you know it too. The next step is making sure the wider digital world can see and understand it.

Your knowledge, experience, customer stories, advice, information, reviews all help tell that story. The earlier you begin sharing and organizing that information, the more time your business has to build visibility and authority as AI search grows.

I would not wait for website traffic to decline before paying attention. You have something far more valuable right now: time to adapt while people are still forming new habits.

People still make decisions the same way they always have. They choose businesses that feel knowledgeable, experienced, credible, and trustworthy.

AI is simply becoming part of how they find them.

How does your business stack up?

It's 2026. Is our devotion to horses fading?

This was a fun moment from 2015 when my friend Sue and I finally got reunited with our horses at Wild Wood in Wisconsin. I'd been friends with her over a decade at this point. We'd gone through a lot together ... divorces, horses, jobs, work projects, and lots of glasses of wine over cheap frozen pizza. This is literally the moment of our devotion as adult amateurs struggling to find time to work, live and RIDE. Which I know a lot of you can relate to.

USEF introduced “Horses Are Everything,” a campaign tied to its 2025–2028 strategic plan and designed to feature riders of different ages, breeds, disciplines, and experience levels. This is a notable shift from promoting competition results or membership benefits toward building the entire category around the human meaning of horses.

For equine businesses, it creates a broader cultural territory that can support participation, education, storytelling, sponsorship, and industry advocacy without reducing the horse world to sport alone.

Do you think this is enough? Do more organizations, brands, and businesses in the horse industry need to follow suit? Where do we go from here with our love for horses?

That panic feeling when a post doesn't work.
That blinking cursor waiting for you to write the next viral post.
Or the idea to just quit and throw it all out.
We've all been there.

Followers and likes have become the most visible evidence that something is happening, so people naturally treat them as the measure of whether their marketing is working.

That is the distortion at the center of social media marketing: engagement is immediate, public, and emotionally loud. Trust, recall, search behavior, referrals, and buying decisions often happen privately, develop gradually, and travel across several touchpoints before becoming visible to the business.

Sometimes the most valuable part of your marketing is happening while you are away from it.

"Our competitors don't do that" ...

As they approve another campaign that looks exactly like their competitor's.

It gets said with confidence, but it's actually just another cage that everyone is standing in.

Everyone benchmarking everyone else, everyone copying the same three players who copied the same three players before them, all the way back to some choice someone made in 1994 that nobody has thought to question since.

If no one in your category is doing something, that's not a warning sign, it's an open lane.

The reason your competitors haven't tried it isn't because they tested it and it failed. It's because they were too busy watching each other to look sideways at what actually gets remembered.

When you benchmark against your industry, you become your industry.

Why are you accepting someone else's ceiling?
Why are you chasing their standards?

The businesses I've watched grow fastest are the ones whose owners are doing the things connected to how their buyers and clients feel. Chase why they care about your brand.

That's where the entire opportunity is.

If you read my posts here, you have probably noticed me beating the same drum. It is only because I see so many businesses struggling with their marketing, and I genuinely wish I could help every one of them.

Your marketing does not need to be the loudest in the room. It needs to make your business easier to understand, easier to trust, and easier to choose for you are trying to reach.

Often, the biggest opportunities are sitting in the places where a potential customer still has to guess.

What exactly do you offer?
What outcome can they expect?
Is there enough proof to feel confident?
Is the next step clear?
Do your website, social, emails, and ads feel like the same business?

This is where thoughtful creative becomes valuable. A clear explanation of your business process, a strong example of the outcome, a customer story, a more specific offer, or a better answer to the question people keep asking can do far more than another generic post.

Recognition matters too. The ideas you want your business to be known for need enough consistency to become familiar. That familiarity helps people remember you, understand you, and feel more confident choosing you.

Does your marketing help people make a decision?

Anyone who has been around horses knows they wake up every morning fully aware they are the main character. Armani greets me daily with the expression of a monarch who has been kept waiting slightly too long for his breakfast, and honestly, fair. He is stunning, he knows it, and he has strong opinions. Horses will teach you how to move through the world with presence, how to hold your own without shouting, how to be soft and strong in the same breath, and how to laugh at yourself when a fifteen-hundred-pound animal decides your carefully planned ride is now a philosophical discussion about that same terrifying bucket he has walked past one thousand times before. They have shaped history, but the real gift is how deeply they continue to shape us.

🐴 Happy World Horse Day🐴 to every horse being outrageously themselves today, and to the humans lucky enough to be in on it.
