Welcome to Medicaid Mondays! MEAction is going to be sharing important information about Medicaid and especially focusing on the new work requirements on Mondays this summer. Our Frail and Furious campaign is happening all year!
We are so thankful to our amazing volunteer CoRy Wysz for kicking it off!
Episode 1 of the newest segment, Medicaid Monday. CoRy the Cat goes over some introductory tidbits on Medicaid.
Medicaid is the largest healthcare provider for people in the U.S.
1 in 5 Americans are on Medicaid, but 6 out of every 10 Medicaid enrollees ages 19-64 with a disability do NOT receive disability income.
The “One Big Beautiful Bill Act” signed in work requirements as a mandatory program to be implemented by Jan. 1st, of 2027. Last week, CMS dropped their almost 400 page guidelines--and it is pretty grim, for our and the ME/LC, and disability community as a whole.
Ask yourself this: Are you on Medicaid?
First things first, we are in this together! Be sure to check to see what your Medicaid program is called in your state. Second, be sure to save every letter, e-mail, forms, identification documents...if you have it, hold onto it. It is better to be over prepared then not at all.
And finally, share your Medicaid stories. More on how and where to do that coming soon.
And that is Episode 1 of Medicaid Monday!
See ya next week! Share with us what you would like us to cover!
