Дизайн − це формування гармонійно збалансованого у просторі й часі предметного середовища для упорядкування життя людини; створення нових смислів і структур для об'єктів матеріальної та духовної культури; предмет наукових досліджень й проектів в системі «людина – середовище»; система мислення, здатна творити ідеї щодо організації життєдіяльності людини за її потребами, етичними та естетичними норм
ами епохи та соціокультурного контексту.
Дизайн у його найрізноманітніших проявах у майбутньому стане заняттям для більшості вільних творчих людей з багатою уявою, адже вони будуть вивільнені від рутинної праці засобами робототехніки, нанотехнологій, космічної індустрії тощо.
Кафедра комп'ютерної, інженерної графіки та дизайну (КІГД) Національного Транспортного університету готує фахівців для цього майбутнього: проектування екстер’єрів та інтер’єрів житлових та громадських будівель, промисловий дизайн (транспорту, меблів, виробництв, ландшафтів, виставкових експозицій). Випускники кафедри творять нову якість життя, і тому завжди будуть затребувані в житті.
Ця спільнота призначена для обміну досвідом та напрацюваннями між студентами та випускниками кафедри КІГД НТУ та залучення абітурієнтів до освоєння найперспективнішої професії людства.

Design means the formation of a harmoniously balanced in space and time subject environment for organizing a human life; creation of new meanings and structures for objects of the material and spiritual culture; the subject of research and projects in the system of "man - environment"; a system of thinking capable of creating ideas for the organization of the human being according to its needs, ethical and aesthetic norms of the era and socio-cultural context. Design in its various manifestations in the future will be an occupation for most the free creative people with a rich imagination because they will be freed from the routine work by the means of robotics, nanotechnology, space industry, and more. The Department of Computer & Engineering Graphics and Design (CEGD) of the National Transport University prepares the specialists for this future: design of the exteriors and the interiors of residential and public buildings, the industrial design (transport, furniture, production, landscapes, exhibitions, etc.). Graduates of the department create a new quality of life, and therefore they will always be required in its life. This community is designed to exchange experiences and work-outs between students and graduates of the Department of CEGD of NTU and to attract the entrants to learn the most promising profession of mankind.
