Our award-winning project, KiAfrika, holds a special place in our hearts. It’s not just an e-commerce platform; it’s a lifeline for marginalized artisans in Tanzania and across Africa. Through KiAfrika, we’re committed to uplifting local talent, showcasing their craftsmanship, and creating opportunities for artisans to thrive.

We want to take a moment to express our gratitude to our exceptional Regional Manager Zarina Jafari, who represented Techy8 at the award ceremony. Not only has she been instrumental in our success, but she also looked absolutely stunning while accepting the award! 💃. On Saturday, we were invited as the guests of honor to a graduation ceremony for approximately 10 young adults who completed their 3-month tailoring course at the African Attire Tailoring College (AATC) in Kigamboni.

AATC was inaugurated on June 3, 2023, and ever since then, KiAfrika has been collaborating with AATC to bring this vision to life. It brings us immense joy to witness how, in just 3 months of this beginner's tailoring course, the graduates were able to create 5 different outfits each. They showcased their creations in a fashion show during the graduation ceremony. Additionally, they acquired basic entrepreneurship skills, empowering them to start their own tailoring businesses.

AATC aims to provide young adults with opportunities for employment through vocational training, aligning with the Tanzanian government's efforts in vocational and technical training as the ultimate solution to unemployment.

We are grateful to have had the opportunity to participate in Academy for Women Entrepreneurs program (AWE) in Pemba and to attend the graduation last week Tuesday. As a woman founded business, this program has equipped us with knowledge and also enabled us to connect with other women entrepreneurs in Pemba, we look forward to working with them and providing an online platform for them to sell their amazing products through KiAfrika (www.kiafrika.com).

The US government's support for the Academy for Women Entrepreneurs program (AWE) is truly commendable and we look forward to seeing more women empowered.

AWE Pemba - We are not strangers, we are game changers and together we can.
