Cybercriminals are now using ultra-realistic fake apps to bypass security and spy on your devices.

What these fake apps can do:

Spying:

Secretly record conversations
Theft: Steal your Data
Takeover: Allow hackers to remotely control your device using cloud platforms

How to stay safe:

Check Permissions:

If a basic app asks for access to your microphone or SMS, it’s a major red flag.

Watch the "ClickFix": Be wary of websites that claim your browser has "crashed" and ask you to run a command to fix it this is a common way malware is installed on Macs and PCs right now.
