ALVE 1.0 – The Future Industrial Version 🤖

This is our vision for ALVE 1.0, the industrial version of our humanoid robot.

Unlike our current MVP, ALVE 1.0 will be equipped with:

⚙️ High-torque rotary actuators
⚙️ Harmonic Drive (preferred) or high-precision cycloidal gearboxes
⚙️ Precision FOC motor drivers with torque control
⚙️ Absolute encoders for accurate joint feedback
⚙️ RGB-D perception and AI-powered vision
⚙️ NVIDIA Jetson edge computing
⚙️ ROS 2, Digital Twin, and Vision-Language-Action (VLA) integration
⚙️ Designed for industrial automation, logistics, research, and service robotics

The biggest challenge in humanoid robotics isn't only AI... it's actuators.

High-torque rotary actuators with harmonic drive (or high-quality cycloidal reducers), combined with precise FOC motor drivers, are the foundation of smooth, accurate, and backdrivable humanoid robots.

Unfortunately, these components are extremely expensive.

For that reason, our ALVE humanoid MVP was intentionally built using a simpler and more affordable actuation approach to validate the concept before moving to an industrial-grade platform.

Now we're ready for the next step.

MVP doesn’t mean perfect.
It usually comes with missing features, rough details, exposed parts, and a lot of things that still need improvement.

But that’s the point: to validate the idea, test the mechanics, understand the real problems, and learn fast.

What you see here is not the final industrial version.
The industrial version is much tougher: stronger materials, better safety, cleaner wiring, reliable software, endurance testing, and professional integration.

This is just the beginning.

We're looking for a motivated engineering student for an on-site summer internship focused on robot mechanisms and CAD design.

You will work on mechanical CAD modeling, robotic arm mechanisms, 3D assemblies, and prototyping support.

Profile:
Mechanical, Mechatronics, Robotics, or related engineering student.
Basic knowledge of SolidWorks, Fusion 360, CATIA, or similar tools is appreciated.
Motivation to learn is the most important.

الفكرة بسيطة أما تأثيرها كبير:
نركّبوا système ذكي للتحكم في الفانات عن بعد، بالطاقة الشمسية، ينقص التنقل، الوقت، المازوط، ويعاون الفلاح يتحكم في السقي بطريقة أسهل وأذكى.

اليوم عنا طلبات وpre-orders، وعنا أراضي جاهزة للتركيب، أما بش نسرّعوا الإنتاج والتوسّع نلوجوا على Seed Funding / Pre-seed Funding، أو شريك استثماري يفهم قيمة المشروع في الفلاحة الذكية.

نحبوا نكبروا SmartValve من prototype validated إلى product يتصنع ويتباع على scale أكبر في تونس وبعدها خارج تونس إن شاء الله.

One of the questions in the feedback form after a recent international robotics event was:

"What could we improve for future editions?"

My answer was simple:

> "While the workshop was scientifically excellent, I believe the organizers should also consider maintaining a professional dress code for attendees. At times, it honestly felt like I had accidentally walked into a pool party instead of an international robotics conference 😅. As someone who values modesty and comes from an Islamic background, I found this distracting and not aligned with my personal values. A minimum standard of professional attire would help create an environment where everyone can stay focused on the real purpose of the event: learning, networking, and advancing science rather than unnecessary distractions."

This isn't about judging individuals or telling people how to live their lives. It's simply my opinion that professional scientific events benefit from a professional atmosphere. We come to conferences to exchange ideas, build collaborations, and push robotics forward—not to be distracted by things unrelated to the event.

Everyone is free to have a different opinion, and I fully respect that. This was simply my honest feedback when I was asked how the experience could be improved.

What do you think? Should international scientific conferences encourage a minimum professional dress code, or should there be no guidelines at all?
