This is the third generation of the 8-channel opto-isolator board designed for input expansion over the I²C bus. Each input accepts 5–30 V DC, making it suitable for electronic or semiconductor switching devices such as transistors and FETs, as well as small mechanical switching devices such as relays, buttons, and signal switches.
The board uses the PCF8574 I2C controller chip, supports a 100kHz bus speed, and operates with a bus voltage of 3.3-5.5VDC. It features three jumpers for setting its address, allowing up to 16 boards to be connected on a single bus.
In this version, the board does not include I2C bus pull-up resistors or an interrupt pull-up resistor on board. These pull-up resistors must be connected to the I2C bus externally.
The board can be mounted on a DIN-rail PCB holder, which can be securely attached to a tray.
The difference between the I2C-IN830MxV3 and I2C-IN830MAxV3 lies in the I2C controller chip used. The I2C-IN830MxV3 uses the PCF8574, while the I2C-IN830MAxV3 uses the PCF8574A. The key distinction between the PCF8574 and PCF8574A is their I2C bus address.
