Do you need a big ego to really succeed as a founder?

I have met and interacted with some of the most powerful people in the world. For example, here’s proof of me and Bill Gates hanging out at the hashtag event in NYC.

However, what truly matters to me is my obsession with meeting interesting people and creating technology that supports this vision.

Do I have a big ego? This is an interesting question that I have thought a lot about. My answer is both yes and no.

Yes, because my ego helps me push my ultimate mission of connecting the world through technology for the betterment of humanity. It supports my vision, which goes beyond personal gain.

No, because a successful founder also needs humility and openness to learn from others. An inflated ego that prioritizes personal gain over the collective good can be detrimental, and will kill you.
