🚀 Citta Project Update — Progress, Stability, and Smarter Automation

Excited to share a new development update from CittaProject.

Over the latest sprint, we focused on strengthening our disk preparation and monitoring workflow to make operations more reliable, more observable, and more resilient in long-running ex*****on scenarios.

✅ What’s newly improved
Added a unified dynamic disk pipeline script for preparation + monitoring.
Enabled automatic external disk detection (with interactive fallback selection).
Added dynamic runtime sizing logic (capacity-aware behavior).
Improved stall detection and auto-recovery so the process can restart itself when needed.
Introduced watch-only mode and status-only mode for safer operations and better visibility.
Added periodic progress notifications and clearer structured logging.
Improved safeguards for re-runs with --force, plus completion markers and cleaner status checks.
🎯 Why this matters
This update improves reliability for long disk validation/formatting pipelines, reduces manual intervention, and gives clearer operational insight for teams running infrastructure-heavy workflows.

We’re continuing to improve orchestration quality, observability, and production-readiness across the project.

When AI Without Humans Fails: The Costly Lesson from Block Inc.

This article summarizes the global controversy surrounding Block Inc. (the parent company of Square and Cash App) and its CEO, Jack Dorsey, regarding the limitations of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the real-world workplace.

The Vision: A Massive Bet on AI (February 2026)

On February 26, 2026, Jack Dorsey shook the tech industry by announcing a drastic reduction in force, laying off over 4,000 employees—nearly 40% of the company's total staff.

Key points of the strategy included:

AI-First Organization: Dorsey argued that "intelligence tools" had advanced enough to replace traditional workflows and clerical tasks.

Small and Flat Teams: He aimed to create a leaner organization, believing that small teams augmented by AI could outperform large, human-heavy workforces.

Market Reaction: Wall Street initially cheered the move, with Block’s stock surging over 20% as investors anticipated massive cost savings.

The Reality Check: Systems Stumble Without Humans (March 2026)

Just weeks after the "AI-replaces-humans" plan was implemented, reports from international media outlets began to reveal cracks in the strategy. Block reportedly started rehiring some of the very people it had just let go.

The critical lessons learned were:

AI Cannot Handle Complexity: In fields like infrastructure engineering and financial compliance, AI struggled with "edge cases" and complex decision-making that required human ethics and nuanced judgment.

Systemic Blunders: Some employees were reportedly rehired after being told their layoff was a "clerical error." This highlighted that without human oversight, automated systems can cause more chaos than efficiency.

Loss of Institutional Knowledge: The rapid departure of veteran staff led to the stalling of critical projects. AI could not replicate the deep, unwritten knowledge of how the company’s specific systems functioned.

Sources of Information

The New York Times: Block Cuts 40% of Its Work Force Because of Its Embrace of A.I.

Reuters: Jack Dorsey's Block to cut nearly half its workforce in AI overhaul

Business Insider: Select Few Block Employees Say They Were Rehired After 4,000 Fired

Fortune: Jack Dorsey lays off 40% of Block because of AI

Summary: The case of Block Inc. serves as a stark reminder that while AI is incredibly powerful, "Human-in-the-loop" remains an essential component for stability. Rushing into total automation without a balanced plan for human expertise can lead to costly operational failures.

Would you like me to summarize the expert opinions on the "AI Washing" trend or compare this event to other tech companies that have faced similar issues?
