With 2022 coming to a close, I think now is the best time to reflect on what's happening to us in 2022...

It has been nothing but fast-moving, exciting yet aspiring, with new lessons-growths-opportunities aligned to us.

2022 has been another eye-opening year and we are absolutely thankful to all the supportive clients that believed in us, our products and services. Within the year, we have furthered our international clientele in the United Kingdom, Germany, Australia, China, Japan, India and some other footprints in the South East Asia region.

We are also privileged to work on 3 superapps that were designed and developed to fulfil the gaps in their respective industry,
- FlexiNurse (a Nursing app for the locum nurses to tackle the lack of manpower issues and hospital operations via digital capabilities. Read more on https://flexinurse.sg/)
- Bespoke Habitat's Tenant Management System (a true Tenant Management app caters for 5 different user roles / modes to achieve end-to-end coverage in a co-living customer's journey. Read more on https://bespokehabitat.com.sg/)
- RichCoSpace (a Finance & Mortgage Advisory app that combines both tech and human to serve Multiple-Properties owners and investors. Read more on https://richcospace.com/)

With some dedication in the team handling the DevOps (including myself), we have raised the performance bar internally by 7x compared to the years before using certain tools and frameworks to achieve true Cross-Platform compatibility and another notch into Progressive Web Apps development through WordPress (with MVC support & remarkable code performance) and Ionic Angular.

Looking forward to impacting more people, businesses and organisations at a greater heights, widths and depths in 2023.

Received a SMS from the bank today that my card has been blocked, and I thought I was going through the usual SOP again to speak to one of the bank executives and request for the card to be unblocked, which I did anyway. The bank flagged out several transactions that didn't ring a bell in my head but I requested to unblock anyway. However, I went through the bank app thereafter to trace back the past transactions and realized there were indeed some weird ones showing up on the transaction summary such as,
- veeginshop(dot com)
- iqgym(dot net)

Which, I then went through those phishing sites to see what were their content and they are looking like a regular website that subscribes some kind of IQ Tests / premium content (which of course this was the first time I visited these websites). And on the website there's some disclaimer that stated clauses like $1 for a month's trial / 3 days access and $99 / month thereafter. So, next thing I did was calling back the bank to further verify these transactions made and requested my card to remain further blocked.

So, here's the things I found out and I believe it would be similar patterns from these unethical operating organizations behind these acts,
- The card was placed on $99 / day charge (instead of the per month clause)
- The card was used on multiple other websites at one go (with similar charges / methods), which a total of at least $500 in a day was placed on-hold for the charge.
- It will always start with a small charge such as $1 - $5 as trial (small enough that the banks don't find it strange and didn't require an authorized PIN to transact)

In summary, I've only lost $5 in this incident but I have taken several steps prior to stay vigilant,
#1 - Always, I mean Always (it's Financial 101), to make sure there's a Limit imposed to the card / active bank account for transactions
#2 - Top up the card only when it's needed (prior to making a purchase that you make intentionally)
#3 - Do a quick reconciliation on a weekly / monthly basis in your banking app to check through the past transactions
