We’re thrilled to have been announced as finalists for the ARN Innovation Awards in the ‘Think Differently’ category for our work with Newcastle Permanent Building Society.

This category acknowledges how ARQ has operated beyond just a transactional engagement, in order to deploy creative and unique solutions to make meaningful impact for our customer.

Since 2019, we have developed a strong partnership with Newcastle Permanent and supported them in their quest to be ‘Australia’s Favourite Banking Experience’.

Through our design advisory, capability uplift and scalable design execution/delivery for multiple delivery squads (starting with the Mobile Banking channel’s refresh of a new MVP app), we worked in genuine collaboration with members of the team to achieve their vision and ensure a consistent customer experience across multiple channels.

Watch this space! Winners will be announced at a an in-person event on Thursday 9 December.

We are excited to announce the rollout of our new Document Digitiser tool in partnership with Amazon Web Services(AWS). Amazon Textract is a machine learning service that automatically extracts text, handwriting, and data from scanned documents to provide highly accurate, digitised copies of documents without the need for manual review.

Our Head of Emerging technology James Litjens worked closely on this project and expects Document Digitiser will make a significant difference in government, retail, mining, construction, and financial services sectors, providing a solution that is efficient, scalable and mitigates errors from manual processes.

Thanks to Ryan Morris-Reade at ITBrief for the article, read it in full here

In April this year we attended the MAV Champions of Change conference in Melbourne as a major sponsor of the event and showcased ARQ’s COVID-safe and space management technologies.

Our team of experts included Associate Director Emerging Technologies James Litjens who demonstrated ARQ’s latest offerings providing real-time indoor space and congestion monitoring.

Data was gathered through features like heat-mapping and our ‘blue ring’ social distancing tool which visually depicts crowd adherence to the 1.5m rule, which meant event organisers and attendees could make informed decisions to maximise their enjoyment of the conference and ensure their personal safety.

We’re thrilled to announce the winners of the !

Of the four grand finalists it was Team 17, AKA ‘Diamond Art’ who received the most votes from their peers. The team’s creative approach and in-depth understanding of technology saw them develop an innovative digital solution to address the challenges facing Indigenous artists in Australia.

The team focussed on two problem statements. Firstly, how to connect Indigenous artists directly with potential buyers and secondly, how to ensure that the proceeds of sales go to the artist and that the perpetual royalty of the art is controlled by their family.

By drawing on different real-life examples, the team pitched a strong case for the use of NFTs – units of data stored on a digital ledger that certifies a digital asset such as artwork to be unique – to sell emerging and existing Indigenous artworks. This would ensure that the artist receives a percentage of the sale every time their unique piece of work is sold.

A huge congratulations to Anthony Mortimore, Hadley Dixon, Michele Martin, Roman Maya, Simone Chuen, David K. Nguyen and James Vincent, we can’t wait to take this concept forward and turn it into reality.
