Bplus Trends|SoftBank Releases Debit Card With Built-In Blockchain Wallet
Japanese holding company SoftBank has introduced a new debit card featuring a built-in cryptocurrency wallet.

Consumers can use the integrated blockchain wallet as both cold and hot digital currency storage and check balance-related information in real-time.

Currently, the card is available exclusively in Japan, however, SoftBank plans to roll out the product in Southeast Asia, South Korea, the United States and Dubai in the future.

외신 소식에 따르면, 1일(현지시간) 소프트뱅크는 ‘SBC 월렛 카드’를 출시했다고 밝혔다. 이 카드는 미국 기업 다이나믹스와 공동 제작했다. 직불카드와 신용카드 그리고 암호화폐 지갑 기능을 동시에 지원한다. 또 와이파이를 연결하고 LED 화면을 탈부착할 수 있어 저장된 암호화폐 가격을 법정화폐 시세로 실시간 변환해 보여준다. 암호화폐 지갑은 와이파이 연결 시에는 핫월렛으로, 연결 해제 시에는 콜드월렛으로 전환된다.

SBC 월렛 카드는 현재 일본에서만 구매 및 사용이 가능하다. 향후 한국, 미국, 두바이 등 지역에서도 카드를 출시할 계획이다.

Bplus Trends|IBM patent takes on package drone theft with blockchain’s help
IBM has filed for a patent of a system that uses blockchain technology to prevent drone-enabled package theft.

According to a filing published by the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) on Nov. 12, IBM will track drone altitude using an Internet of Things (IoT) altimeter, while continuously uploading that data to a blockchain secure platform.

IBM would use blockchain technology to tackle privacy and security concerns regarding unmanned aerial vehicles, more commonly known as drones.

IBM은 드론(Drone)에 의해 배달된 짐의 도난을 막기 위해 IoT(사물의 인터넷) 기반의 고도 센서나 지정물의 고도 데이터를 기록하는 블록체인 기반 고도 측정·추적 시스템 특허 신청을 했다고 미국 특허 상표청(USPTO)이 신청 내용을 공개했다.

IBM의 특허 신청 내용에 따르면 드론의 보급으로 온라인 쇼핑 등에서 구입한 화물의 무인 배송이 인기를 얻고 있다. 게다가 쇼핑한 패키지 수령 장소에 반드시 인간이 물리적으로 존재하고 있을 필요가 없다는 점이 드론 배송의 이점이 되고 있다.

한편 이와 같은 장점이 있는 반면에 드론에 의한 무인 배달 완료 후 짐을 주목하는 타인의 모니터링이 가능하다. 악의적인 제삼자가 다른 드론으로 쉽게 배달 된 패키지를 훔치거나 파괴할 위험이 있는 것으로 보이고 있다.

이에 사생활과 보안 문제 해결을 위해서 IBM은 블록체인 기반 시스템 관련 특허를 신청했다. 예를 들어 고해상도 센서 및 카메라 탑재 드론의 경우, 이들 기능이 동작할 때마다 블록체인에 기록하는 것 등을 제안하고 있다.

Bplus Trends|신한은행, 블록체인 키 관리서비스 태양광 발전소 시범적용

연합뉴스에 따르면 신한은행은 카카오의 블록체인 기술 계열사 그라운드X, 블록체인 기술 연구소 헥슬란트와 함께 공동 개발한 '개인 키 관리 시스템(PKMS)'을 태양광 발전 분야에 시범 적용했다고 2일 밝혔다.

재생에너지데이터 통합 플랫폼 업체 레디(REDi)의 거래 플랫폼에 이번 기술이 적용돼 태양광 발전소에서 발생하는 전력 정보를 검증하고 블록체인에 기록, 실시간으로 전력량을 확인할 수 있게 됐다. 신한은행은 시범 적용 결과를 바탕으로 개인 키 관리 시스템을 다양한 분야에 적용해 추가로 사업화하는 방안을 검토하고 있다.

According to the report on Dec 2, Shinhan, the second largest bank in South Korea, trials the blockchain key management service of photovoltaic power plants to verify the electric power information and record in the blockchain for real-time check of electric quantity.

This technology has already been used by the trading platform of REDi, a data integration firm of renewable energy.

Bplus Trends| Telegram Founder Due in Court Regarding the “Gram” Cryptocurrency

the SEC is saying Telegram failed to register the token as a security, and a lawsuit has since unfolded. Telegram is asking a New York federal court to dismiss the suit and the charges, claiming that the gram does not share the same properties as other securities.

A federal court is asking the founder of Telegram – Pavel Durov – to testify in the Security and Exchange Commission’s (SEC’s) case against the encrypted messaging service’s latest initial coin offering (ICO) of its new cryptocurrency known as the “gram.”

Aside from Durov, vice president Ilia Perekopsky is scheduled to testify in London regarding the case on December 16.

Chinese fintech giant Alipay is partnering with London-listed payments and foreign exchange firm for cross-border remittance services and blockchain applications.

Alipay users will benefit from seamless access to remittances through Finablr’s omni-channel network, spanning physical and digital touchpoints across 170 countries, through its trusted global brands including Xpress Money, Travelex, Unimoni and UAE Exchange. With this, Finablr becomes one of the first cross-border remittance partners for Alipay, which serves more than 1.2 billion people globally together with its local e-wallet partners.

United States Internal Revenue Service (IRS) Criminal Investigation Chief John Fort said that the regulator is looking into potential tax issues caused by Bitcoin (BTC) ATMs and kiosks.

According to Coin ATM Radar, there are 4,129 Bitcoin ATMs and tellers in the United States that enable users to buy and/or sell cryptocurrencies in exchange for a fee. IRS is concerned that as they become more popular and easier to use, more and more people will start using them as a means of tax evasion.

Bplus Trends| On Nov.12,the social media giant Facebook announced that it is introducing Facebook Pay, a payment system that is designed to facilitate payments across Facebook, Messenger, Instagram, and WhatsApp. Facebook Pay will contribute to ensure users’ payment information is secure and protected.

Facebook Pay is built on existing financial infrastructure and partnerships. It is separated from Facebook’s new Calibra wallet and the Libra network.

Facebook Pay should work with most major credit/debit cards and cooperate with giant payment system like PayPal and Stripe.

Bplus Trends| Wilshire Phoenix, a relatively young financial firm in New York, filed to launch the United States Bitcoin & Treasury Investment Trust ETF in May with NYSE Arca. At that point, a dozen bitcoin ETF proposals had already been swatted down by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) – including nine in one day. But unlike other ETF applications, Wilshire Phoenix’s ETF will invest in both bitcoin and U.S. Treasury securities, commonly referred to as T-bills.
The SEC is currently reviewing the application.
