Did you know that slow motion can transform your product or brand into a symbol of luxury?🌟

Not only does it captivate viewers visually, but it also has a remarkable impact on sales.

Experiments have shown that incorporating slow motion videos can increase clicks by 18%, make the price more acceptable by 11%, and boost sales by a staggering 22%.

Picture this: you are watching a ch*****ne commercial. The camera zooms in on the bottle as the golden liquid pours out in slow motion, revealing every mesmerizing detail.

Not only is it visually appealing; it influences consumer behaviours in a profound way.

Why does slow motion work, and how can you harness its power to elevate your brand?

✨ Grab attention: slow down key moments in your product videos or ads, creating a sense of luxury and enhancing the desire to purchase.

✨ Emotional engagement: Slow motion immerses viewers in the intricate movements of your product, forging a strong emotional connection. This heightened enjoyment extends to the perceived quality and luxury of the featured items.

✨ Timing is everything: slow motion is most effective when targeting consumers in the mood to splurge. Ensure your videos are high resolution and uninterrupted for maximum impact.

While the study primarily focused on luxury products, there is a good chance slow motion can be applied to premium items as well.

Remember, slow motion is the secret ingredient that sets your brand apart.

So, slow it down, add a touch of luxury, and watch your sales soar! 🚀

The secret to captivating Ads? Put your product in the spotlight! 🎯

Did you know that the position of a product in an advertisement, can significantly impact its effectiveness?

According to a recent study, people are more likely to engage with an ad if the product is positioned facing the center of the image.

Here are some key takeaways:

◾️ Images of products facing inward were liked 24% more and processed 27% more quickly than those facing outward.

◾️ Items on the left side of the frame facing inward were viewed 6% more positively than those facing inward on the right side of the frame.

◾️ This effect is due to our natural tendency to focus on the center of the ad and find it easier to process an object when its face is visible.

The reason why positioning a product facing the center of an ad works, is that it makes it easier for people to mentally process the ad and view the product in a positive light ☀️

Our eyes and brain naturally focus on the center of the ad, and when the product is facing inward, it requires less eye movement and is easier to process, leading to a more positive reaction.

To implement this finding in your advertisements, review your product images and ads to ensure your products are facing inward.
You can use photo-editing software to adjust existing images, and consider positioning your product on the left side of the frame if it is an exciting or risky product. 📸

As marketers, we often want to highlight the science behind our products, but is this always effective?🤔

Did you know that according to research, science-based messaging can backfire when it comes to products bought for fun and pleasure.

For example, do you really want to know the chemical composition of your ice cream? 🍦

Here are some key findings from the research:

▪️ Science-based messaging works well for products that are bought for their functionality or effectiveness.

▪️ However, for products bought for emotional reasons, science-based messages make people less likely to choose the product.

▪️ When there is a mismatch between a products messaging and how we perceive it, it turns us off from the product.

So, what can we do?
Here are some steps to implement:

▪️ Link your messaging to people's motivations for buying from you - is it for fun or because you are competent?

▪️ If people use your product because of how it makes them feel or because it is fun, focus your messaging on that.

If you must use science-based messaging for fun products, try to make the science relevant to the feelings or use of the product.

Remember, sometimes less is more, and it's okay to let people enjoy their ice cream without thinking about the chemistry behind it! 😄

Attention all writers! 📢

Are you tired of pouring hours into writing content only to have it go unread? 😩

Well, the good news is that there are three science-based rules to follow that can help you keep your readers hooked!

Here are the key findings from recent research analysing over 650,000 reading sessions of 35,000 articles:

✍️ Keep your content simple, snappy, and exciting. People are 25% more likely to read until the end if your content is easy to read and uses emotional language.

✍️ Use shorter, common, and concrete words to make your writing easier to understand. Avoid long, complex sentences and the passive voice.

✍️ Keep your readers' attention with an excited, anxious, or hopeful tone. Use words like "thrilled" or "excited" instead of "pleased".

Why does this work, you ask? 🧠

Here are three reasons:

◾️ Easier sentence structure and simpler, familiar language make an article easier to understand, so readers stick with it.

◾️ Uncertainty builds suspense and makes readers more attentive because they want to find out "what happens next".

◾️ Strong language arouses emotions, raising energy levels and making it easier to sustain attention.

So, if you want to keep your readers engaged, follow these rules, and watch your content thrive! 🌟

And remember, clickbait headlines might get clicks, but they also make readers feel manipulated and less likely to share your content. 🙅‍♂️

You want to know a secret to reducing returns?
Offer free gifts instead of bundles 🎁

Imagine that you are shopping online, and you see two promotions for a blazer and a matching tie.
One says, "Buy a blazer and get a matching tie for $60" and the other says, "Buy a $60 blazer and get a matching tie for free."

Which promotion would make you less likely to return the blazer and buy a cheaper one instead? 🤔

Well, scientific research has found that framing a promotion as a "free gift" instead of a bundle decrease returns.

▪️ People are over 2 times more likely to return an item in a bundle promotion as compared to something that comes with a free gift.

▪️ When given the choice between buying a sweater and getting a free scarf or buying a sweater and a scarf together, people were 14% more likely to return the sweater in the second scenario.

▪️ The value of a "free gift" includes both the monetary savings and the fun of getting a little something extra, which makes people less likely to return the item and lose that value.

So, if you are running a product bundle promotion, frame it as a "gift" instead of a bundle to reduce returns and cut costs.

Time to review your bundle promotions and see if you need to adjust your messaging! 🚀

Want to make your product stand out and increase engagement?

Then listen up, product marketers! The secret to making your photos pop, lies in the type of photo you choose. 📸

According to research, there are three types of photos you can use to showcase your product, and each one has its own unique benefits.

Here we have the different alternatives:

• The "Hand Model" Shot - showing the hand holding the product.

• The "Selfie" Shot - showing the person's face with the product.

• The "Product Alone" Shot - showcasing the product without any part of the person's body.

But, which type of photo is most effective for your campaign goals? 🤔

Once again, the research has spoken, and the results may surprise you!

Here we have listed the key findings:

• Images of products being held (without showing the person's face) boost sales, while selfies with the product (face and product both showing) increase engagement and the reach of your brand.

• People are 70% to 78% more likely to buy a product when images show it being held by a person (vs a selfie).

• Selfies with a product receive 28% to 49% more likes (vs holding a product).

Encouraging user-generated content on social media can do wonders for your brand.

Successful campaigns by big brands like Starbucks, Coca-Cola, and Lay's are perfect examples of how it can increase reach and engagement. 📷💥

So, grab your cameras, choose the right type of photo, and start snapping those shots to take your product to the next level! 🚀🤑

The secret to boosting your product sales 💡

You have probably heard that a hand touching your product, or people using it, increases sales.

But what about the actual product itself? How can you make people perceive it as more valuable? 🤔

Introducing the simple trick to boost your sales: reflections! 🌟

Yes, that's right - adding a reflection to your product in images can make all the difference. Want to know why? 🧐

Here's the science behind it:

• Our attraction to shiny objects is rooted in our survival instincts to find clean, pure, shiny water.

• Shiny objects are perceived as being cleaner, newer, and in better condition.

• Adding a reflection to your product in images can make it look shinier, purer, cleaner, and in better condition.

So, why not add a little sparkle to your product images? 🌟

Show your product off at its best with a reflection in your ads, product pages, packaging, and anywhere you use images. 📷

Just be mindful of adding too much shine, as it could backfire and hurt the quality perceptions of your product.

So go ahead and give it a shot! Let us know if it works for you 😎💡

Ever had a rude complain on your business social media page?

Most of us have, and we are happy to tell you that we have found a way for you to take advantage of it 👊

When you get a complain on your public page, the best way to respond to it is to take it to a private conversation as fast as possible, and make a polite apology.

But what if the complaint is rude and all you want to do is to respond in the same rude way?

We say don’t! ❌

Here is what the science says:

The best way to respond to someone who is rude is with humor.
When you have a public page for your business there is always going to be silent observers that will see your respond, and how you choose to respond, influences how the perceive you.

When your answer is filled with humor, other people will see that and they will engage more with your answer (liking, retweeting), which will amplify the positive effect.

For example, researchers found that:

◽️ When a complaint was civil, a polite apology increased the purchase intentions of other readers by 38% compared to no response or a funny response.

◽️ If a complaint was rude, a funny response increased purchase intentions by 18.3% and an apology by 8.9%, compared to no response.

◽️ When we consider the humor to be positive and not aggressive, we find it amusing.

Remember, nobody likes rude complainers 😉

We then develop better feelings towards a company, we are more likely to engage and buy from it.

Humor is great, but remember to make sure that the humor you use to respond with is actually funny and clever, and most importantly not offensive to the complainer.

Have you heard about “The teasing effect”? 👀

Let us give you an example on this brilliant way to improve people’s feelings.

Let’s say you are watching your favourite show on TV. Tension is building up and there is about to reach a big reveal. And then…commercials start and interrupt you.

Annoying right? 😤

We have found some research that show us that this type of interruption and tension, actually improves your Tv-watching experience, rather than the opposite.

Let us explain why and how to use it, based on research we have found:

▪️ Information makes people happier when it is first teased and then resolved, compared to when it is given directly with no uncertainty.

▪️ The effect also improves how people feel towards and respond to the contents of the message.

▪️ The teasing effect makes people feel happier, and more positive towards you. It also makes the message more exiting and enjoyable.

In nature, we hate uncertainty that could impact us negatively.
Sometimes, even more than the outcome. Because of this fear of negative uncertainty, we learn to avoid uncertainty.
People in a curious state of mind have less positive brain activity than those not curious.

Therefore a mild uncertainty makes us excited and builds a positive feeling of anticipation. When we resolve it, we feel rewarded 🎊

To use this teasing effect, it is important that you reframe your messages into two parts: a teaser that causes curiosity, and then the answer to it.

You can use this in any message (ads, loyalty rewards, website copy, presentations etc) and it is an easy way to build up some tension in your content.

Does emojis increase people’s engagement on social media platforms?

We have done the research and found the answer to that question 👏🏼

Here is what we have found:

▪️ Only about 20% of LinkedIn posts use emojis today; despite that we now know that you can double your odds of engagement if you use them in a LinkedIn post.

▪️ Emojis increase Instagram engagement rate by 48%.

▪️ 57% of Facebook posts got more likes, while 33% got shares and comments if emojis was used in the post.

▪️ The effect is strongest when emojis are followed by highly related text (that explains them or complements them).

▪️ Playfulness (with emojis or not) is what drives rich online interactions. In turn, they develop strong brand-consumer relationships.

▪️ Previous research found that emojis reduce misinterpretations and are good at presenting emotions.

The study also confirms that we find playful interactions enjoyable and interesting.

It also builds stable and healthy relationships between people; this can of course be extended to online interactions as well between brands and people.

When people look at an emoji, their brain behaves in the same way as when they look at a real human face.
Emojis are considered equivalent to the human face by your brain.
This explains why emoji user engagement is more than what you will see with plain text posts.

Emoji use works with all types of social media, the importance is to not overuse them and always keep the emoji relevant to your content and brand 😊
