There are a couple of times a year when you get confused about if it’s spring or if it's autumn. When the sunlight is a little bit warm and you walk where all the leaves have already fallen to the ground. Yesterday I had one of those moments. It made me think about that it’s a big difference between the feeling of spring and the feeling of autumn. But you can sow wheat both in autumn and in spring. 🙂This is a little tin box of spring wheat for a story I have written. ⁣🌿

Early morning baby sketching. 🙂 He is watching a show about colours. He is starting with the basics - red, yellow, blue and green. If he grows up to be anything like me he will will go on to be as intrigued the difference between bluebell and lavender purple. ⁣😊

Today is my two year wedding anniversary. I have these small pieces from my bouquet saved. When I moved recently I put them I plastic bags and blew them up like balloons. Tiny airbags for big memories. 🙂

Drawing in bed while my baby sleeps. I’m working on a dummy of a childrens book I’m writing. I’m writing iton benches on stroller walks when he naps. 🙂💕

Yesterday I walked by some kids playing soccer and suddenly the ball came rolling towards me. Just as suddenly I remembered how totally terrified I was of passing kids playing soccer when I was little. The ball rolling towards me and me being obliged to kick it back to them - a living nightmare for a shy and socially awkward girl. 🙂

I love drawing details. Lots of details. That’s a problem I have had when drawing faces sometimes. In the end they don’t match the surroundings. There just is too much blank space in a face, no rhyme intended. =) I would guess that’s why it seems so popular among fellow illustrators to draw freckles or glasses. Here is a couple of freckleless and unglasseded faces. 🌼

Suddenly the gentle snowdrops have been replaced by tangled knots of dandelions, and I didn’t even notice the shift. Summer is ruthlessly invading and plundering spring, or maybe just givning spring an endless embrace.

Having a child and getting a book contract at the same time has meant going through one of my most trying times ever. And most exciting too! Now he is five months and the book is being edited and I finally had time to just draw something in the moment (he is napping). Happy to be back. 😊🍀
