You might think solar panels don’t work during the darker months. Wrong, they do. In fact, solar panels deliver energy all year round, even in the winter ❄
When it’s snowy, they work too. Obviously, they don’t produce power if they’re completely covered in snow, but snow around the panels can actually help. Snow reflects sunlight, which boosts the panels’ performance once they’re exposed.
Even on a cloudy day, solar panels do their job. Instead of hitting the panels directly, the sun’s rays scatter in the atmosphere and create diffuse light that the panels can capture.
And here’s another surprise: solar panels prefer cold, crisp conditions over scorching heat. If panels get too hot, they lose efficiency. Cold weather helps them perform better. Good right?
