Wafercatalyst WaferCatalyst is partnering with leading wafer manufacturing facilities around the world to offer various advanced technologies to end users globally.

WaferCat is the result of its initiative called “Microelectronic Infrastructure Development Initiative” whose objective is to create a supporting environment and ecosystem for Microelectronics R&D for Saudi Arabia and regionally. The technologies available from WaferCatalyst services through its partners are for digital/logic design, analog/mixed-signal/RF design, high speed design, Image sensing

and various other specialty designs. KACST plans to offer its WaferCatalyst services to academic, research and commercial organizations in Saudi Arabia and globally.

IC Layout/Design Engineer position in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia

We are looking for an engineer with prior experience in IC layout/design for a position based in Riyadh. The right candidate will have more than 2 years of experience doing IC layout with some design with a reputable organization. Further information is provided below.

• 2-4 years of working experience with Cadence Virtuoso design environment for layout and design is a must.
• Experience working on top level layout and tapeout is highly desirable.
• General Linux, Scripting and layout automation experience is highly recommended.
• Strong IC concepts and prior design background would be an added benefit for this position.

This position is for a contract position for a long term project in a major scientific organization based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Further to our released list of Undergraduate Project list for WaferCatalyst, we are pleased to present a project list for Post-Graduate Students.



For post-graduate projects, WaferCatalyst would provide support from a design consultant to assist at the various stages of the design project. This would be done mostly through WaferCatalyst Design and Support Portal (http://portal-wafercat.com/). We are pleased to announce that WaferCatalyst has started to support undergraduate final year (or Graduation) projects. Some project titles are being offered for university students to work in as their final year projects. WaferCatalyst would provide a common 'work area' on our portal (http://portal-wafercat.com/) for each project title for students to familiarize themselves with and start working on one of the projects offered (students would be added to the work area on request).

At the end of next year student projects submitted would be assessed for WaferCatalyst Best Undergraduate Project Award which would allow some of the projects to be chosen for Free Fabrication using one of our fabrication partners.
