It works. It works good enough with moderate amount of correspondence. Even with 100K e-mails it's sustainable.
But. After a while this become monumental and unmovable. This means death. You can't so easily move this mailbox to another server, or sync with it. My Imap-syncs fails miserably on 0.5K folders containing 100-500 e-mails each.
But the last Thunderbird with teeth twisted, slowly but surely manage it.
Just a remark.
No one should follow. The way it's organized is bogus.
But if all this was aligned with projects, milestones and tasks, it would be more ..readable at least.

on Ubuntu 22.04 LTS
It's an issue. If you happens to run with AD authorization, like we did, you may encounter some minor issues. Like as:
- Nothing is working anymore.
- If it works, take a closer look to let say the Public folder.
Users can create a folder but not sub-folders.

Sure intentions was honorable and best, but our samba was layed in ruins until fix was found.
