Nobody tells you how lonely it gets at 2am when you’re the only one left in the office.
I used to think entrepreneurship was all about freedom. The “be your own boss” fantasy. But here’s the part nobody puts on LinkedIn: it’s mostly you, a cold cup of coffee, and a to-do list that laughs in your face.
There were nights I’d stare at the screen, wondering if I’d made a huge mistake. My friends were out, my family asleep, and I was still wrestling with code that refused to work.
You start to question everything. Is this sacrifice worth it? Am I building something real, or just running from a 9-to-5?
Most people see the highlight reel. They don’t see the self-doubt, the missed birthdays, the “maybe tomorrow” promises to your kid.
What most people miss: entrepreneurship isn’t about being fearless. It’s about being scared and doing it anyway.
But when you finally solve that problem at 2:17am, and you know it’s yours alone? That’s a feeling no salary can buy.
If you’re in the trenches, you’re not alone. The struggle is the job.
Hook comment for Stefan:
What’s the hardest part of building something on your own? Be honest—no sugarcoating.
