I promised a short overview of what I’ve been doing while I’ve been mostly “off the radar”.
Over the last 10 years, a lot has happened.
I moved to Bulgaria and relocated the company here, working remotely long before it became normal. I also spent time in Spain, continued working across borders, and took full advantage of what the EU actually makes possible.
Throughout this period, I kept doing what I know best: backend-heavy work, database architecture, extreme optimizations, and complex implementations. Most of this work isn’t visible — it’s buried deep in code and database operations — though a few case studies are documented on the site.
Along the way, my wife, Gabriela Laza, and I built a few parallel businesses: Pavel Homes (rural real estate - https://pavelhomes.eu/en/ ) and Teniski Magazin (e-commerce - https://teniski-magazin.bg/ ).
I also started Evonote ( https://evonote.eu/en/ ). It began as an idea — one of the reasons I returned to university — and is developed in parallel with my studies at the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science, University of Bucharest.
On a personal level, I went back to academia, completed another degree, earned a second bachelor’s diploma, and started a master’s program.
Most of what I’ve built over these years doesn’t show on the surface. Evonote is the most visible part — the rest is infrastructure, systems, and long-term work.
More soon.
For now: Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, happy holidays — and a calm end of the year to everyone.
