But is it, really? Or do developers like to play with technology secretly loving the new and shiny? Or do we only pretend that it’s about users, and behind closed doors, it's developer experience that matters to us? Did we lose direction? Is it time for a critical look at the state of the web and the role JavaScript plays in it?

Hey, guys! Talks #132 is 3 days away and we would like to share with you some things about our speaker, Elena (Posea) Budău, Senior Software Developer @ Fitbit

Who is Elena?
She describe herself as a motivated developer with over 6 years hands on production experience, out of which 4 years with cloud technologies in big data/high traffic environment. Her interests include technical leading teams, providing architectural advice and hands on working with cloud technologies and big data, live traffic migration and zero downtime critical services.

About her talk, " Microservices at scale ":
"During the next 30 minutes, we will cover concepts such as monolith, microservices, APIs, message queues (Kafka), and service discovery (using Zookeeper). We will then work our way up to more detailed patterns of moving from the monolith to microservices, and the complexities this breakout brings with it, by following a real-life example. The examples will not be tight to any specific language, but we will dive deeper into the specifics of a particular message queue: Kafka".
