We’re starting the year by looking back at 2025!
We had the honor of celebrating a pivotal figure in Portuguese literature: Fernando Pessoa.
“The Eternal Ark: Fernando Pessoa and Posterity” is an exhibition that marks the 90th anniversary of Pessoa’s death. Ilhas studio was invited to develop the exhibition concept in close collaboration with curator Antonio Sáez Delgado.
The exhibition invites visitors to explore documents uncovered in the writer’s enigmatic ark, offering a glimpse into a personal archive that has long sparked curiosity and speculation.
Visitors are also invited to actively participate by creating their own version of the exhibition, selecting posters designed to be taken away, turning the experience into something both personal and ongoing.

We’re starting the year by looking back at 2025!
One of the standout moments for ilhas studio was “Haverá Eleições” (There Will Be Elections), a project celebrating democracy and marking the 50th anniversary of Portugal’s first free elections.
The studio designed and produced the exhibition, which brings together an extensive range of audiovisual material, photographs, press coverage from the period, and archival documents. These elements portray the intense time experienced before, during, and after the elections of April 25, 1975.
“Haverá Eleições” was curated by our own art director Catarina Vasconcelos and Pedro Magalhães First presented in Lisbon at the exhibition is now on view in Coimbra until February 22 at . Don’t miss it ✊
