Building digital infrastructure responsibly | Our Sustainability Update 2025
We are very excited to publish the Start Campus Sustainability Update 2025, reflecting the progress we are making as we develop the SINES Data Campus and SIN01’s first full year of metered operations.
Sustainability has shaped our approach from the outset: from how we source energy and design our cooling systems, to how we build, protect biodiversity and invest in the communities around us.

The Update highlights:
• 100% of SIN01 operational electricity consumption matched annually with cancelled Guarantees of Origin from renewable electricity generated in Portugal.
• The continued development of our sea water cooling strategy, targeting zero Water Usage Effectiveness (WUE) by design.
• LEED Gold certification for SIN01.
• Approximately 55 hectares under a 25-year conservation programme at Herdade das Pousadas Novas.
• Continued investment in local skills, education and community initiatives in Sines and the wider region.

As the SINES data campus grows, so will the depth of our measurement and reporting. Our ambition remains clear: to build a leading model for sustainable Data Center development in Europe, supported by credible evidence, transparent reporting and measurable progress.
