This fellow went through quite a transformation! For a moment, he looked like a horse, then he started to resemble a moose, until finally – after much effort – I managed to get him as close to a reindeer as my current skills allow. 😅
The hooves turned out to be the biggest challenge; I had to scroll through tons of photos online just to figure out what they actually look like. I was honestly surprised by how many detailed, high-res close-ups of reindeer hooves you can find on the web!
I am most proud of the antlers, for which I used water-based Powertex wax. Also, now that I’ve had more practice, I find wrapping the wire with wool surprisingly relaxing, even though the mere thought of it used to make my hands shake! :D
