YouTube just made a real change worth knowing about 📢
Starting this January, creators can now earn FULL ad revenue on videos discussing sensitive topics like:
✅ Self-harm & su***de
✅ Abortion & reproductive rights
✅ Domestic & sexual abuse
✅ Sexual harassment
The catch? Content has to be non-graphic — no explicit descriptions or imagery, whether it's dramatized, personal, educational, or journalistic.
For years, videos on these topics got automatically demonetized just for touching the subject, no matter how responsibly they were handled. YouTube says that's changing because the *graphic-ness* of content should matter more than the topic itself.
A few things to know:
🔸 Child abuse and eating disorder content are still excluded
🔸 Old demonetized videos aren't automatically fixed — creators need to appeal through YouTube Studio
🔸 This could mean real revenue recovery for mental health, documentary, and advocacy channels that have been quietly losing money on important content for years
If you're a creator (or know one) covering these topics responsibly, this is worth checking your back catalog for. 🎥💰
