My Journey from Hard Work to Success
Who Am I?
My name is Muhammad Haris, and I live in a small village in Peshawar. I am studying BS Computer Science and have also finished my DIT (Diploma in Information Technology) and an English Language Diploma.
How It All Started
In 2019, I watched a video by Sir Hisham Sarwar about earning money online. That video gave me hope that I could also earn through the internet. I searched on YouTube and found DigiSkills, a free platform where you can learn skills. I joined their Digital Marketing and Graphic Design courses.
At first, I didn’t understand much about Digital Marketing. Another big problem was that the internet in my area didn’t work well. I had to go to certain spots to download the videos. I spent all my pocket money on internet packages, and then I had no money left for the week.
Choosing Graphic Design
I decided to leave Digital Marketing and focus on Graphic Design. My laptop was very slow and could only run an old version of Adobe CS6. Even though it was hard to use, I loved Graphic Design. I kept practicing every day, learning from DigiSkills and GFX Mentor.
After two years, I knew many tools, but I had not earned any money. Then in 2022, I got my first teaching job in DIT, where I taught Graphic Design. I earned 10,000 PKR per month, but most of it went toward rent and other expenses.
Learning to Earn
After two months, I saved 8,000 PKR and joined Design Academy Course. This was my best decision. I already knew how to design, but Sir Arsalan taught me how to earn money through freelancing.
During this time, I worked hard and saved money to install Wi-Fi. Later, my internet connection was cut off because some local people didn’t want to see me succeed. It was a tough time, but I didn’t give up.
My First Earnings
In 2023, I earned my first income from Freepik. By the end of the year, I got my first Fiverr order for $5 to design a billboard. This gave me confidence, and I started getting more work. I also started teaching Graphic Design in another institute.
Facing Challenges
In 2024, my Fiverr account was blocked. It was very difficult, but I didn’t lose hope. I created a new account and started again. Within a month, I began receiving logo design orders. Alhamdulillah, I have made over $1K+ from Fiverr this year.
Where I Am Today
Today, I teach Graphic Design in institutes and online. So far, I have trained 14 batches of students. I am happy that 80% of them are earning money now.
My Message
Never give up, no matter how hard it gets. I worked for three years without earning, but I didn’t stop. Today, Alhamdulillah, I am a successful freelancer.
