The Real Cost of a Software Project

The price of software is not just about writing code.

A typical project budget can go into:

Planning & Requirements Understanding what actually needs to be built.

UI/UX Design Creating a simple and effective user experience.

Development Turning the approved design into working software.

Testing & Quality Assurance Finding and fixing issues before launch.

Deployment & Support Launching the product and keeping it reliable.

The cheapest quote is not always the lowest cost option.

Good software is an investment in solving the right business problem.

What part of a software project do you think is most often underestimated?

From manual work to full automation.

A client came to us with a simple problem:

Their team was spending too much time on repetitive manual tasks.

Instead of adding more people to handle the workload we looked at the process itself.

We identified the bottlenecks redesigned the workflow built the required automation connected it with their existing tools and tested everything before launch.

The result?

Less manual work
Fewer errors
Faster workflows
More time for the team to focus on important work

The biggest lesson?

Do not automate everything. Automate what is slowing your business down.

What repetitive task would you remove from your team today?

Why do software projects fail?

Most projects do not fail because of coding.
They fail because problems are discovered too late.
Here are 3 checkpoints that can catch issues early:

Clear Requirements Make sure everyone understands what needs to be built.

Regular Progress Reviews Check the project before small misunderstandings become expensive changes.

Continuous Testing Find bugs and usability issues throughout development not just at the end.

The earlier you catch a problem the easier and cheaper it is to fix.
Good software development is not just about building fast. It is about building the right thing.

What do you think causes the most problems in software projects?

We do not recommend custom software to everyone.

Sometimes the best solution is the software you already have.
Here are 3 situations where we would tell a prospect to stick with off the shelf tools:

1. Your process is still simple.
If your existing tools handle your workflow well custom development may add unnecessary cost and complexity.

2. You do not have a clear business problem yet.
Building software just because we need a system is not a good enough reason.
First identify the bottleneck. Then decide what needs to be built.

3. An existing tool already does 90% of what you need.
If a proven solution solves your problem we would rather recommend it than build something from scratch just to win a project.
Because good software consulting is not about selling more software.

It is about finding the right solution even when that solution is not us.
That is how we believe trust is built.

Would you trust a software company more if they told you NOT to build something?

A client almost signed with the cheapest bid.

At first, the offer looked perfect: lower price, shorter timeline, and everything seemed simple.

But when we looked deeper, we noticed what the proposal did not include.

No proper QA or testing. No scalability planning. Limited post-launch support. No clear maintenance plan.

Important integrations were treated as extras, and security considerations were minimal.

The cheaper option was not necessarily a bad choice. It was simply cheaper because less was included.

And that is where businesses can get caught.

By month six, the "cheaper" project can become expensive.

Bug fixes, rebuilding features, adding integrations, emergency maintenance, and lost time can quickly add up.

The real cost of software is not always the price on the proposal. It is the value, quality, and support behind it.

When comparing software proposals, do you look at the price first or what is actually included?

Most businesses dont need a mobile app. They need the tools they already use to work together.

We have seen businesses invest in expensive apps while still manually copying data between spreadsheets, CRMs, accounting software and emails.

In many cases integrating your existing systems saves more time, reduces errors and delivers a better return on investment than building another application.

If you had to choose one process in your business to automate today what would it be?

Behind the Scenes: How We Ensure Quality Before Every Software Release

A great software product does not happen by chance. Before any project goes live, our team follows a structured quality assurance process to ensure reliability, performance, and a seamless user experience.

Here is a look behind the scenes at what happens before every release:

•Requirements Review Making sure every feature meets business goals.
•Code Review Developers review code for quality, security, and maintainability.
•Functional Testing Verifying that every feature works as expected.
•Performance Testing Ensuring the application performs well under real world conditions.
•Bug Fixing & Validation Identifying, resolving, and retesting issues.
•Final Quality Check Conducting a final review before deployment.

Our goal is simple: deliver software that is reliable, secure, and ready for real users from day one.

What quality assurance practice do you think is most important before a software release?

Helping QuickJHA Simplify Email Campaigns

Our client QuickJHA needed a faster and more efficient way to manage and send email campaigns directly from their platform.

We developed a custom email campaign system that allows administrators to import contacts by simply copying and pasting email addresses or uploading a CSV file.

Once a campaign is created admins can select the imported contacts and send emails directly from the QuickJHA website making campaign management faster, simpler and more organised.

This solution reduces manual effort saves time and gives the team full control over their email communication from a single platform.

What feature would make the biggest difference in your business workflow? We would love to hear your thoughts.

Why Do Most Software Projects Fail?
Businesses do not invest in software expecting it to fail. Yet many projects end up delayed, over budget or unable to deliver the expected results.
The biggest reason is not poor technology it is poor planning, unclear goals and a lack of communication.

Successful projects start with clear requirements, realistic timelines and regular collaboration between stakeholders and developers.
The best software is not built by adding more features. It is built by solving the right business problem from day one.

Before starting your next project ask yourself "What problem are we solving and how will we measure success?"

Founder Insight: Why Every Startup Should Build an MVP First

Many startups make the mistake of spending months or even years building a "perfect" product before launching.
The problem?
The market may not need all those features.
Customer expectations may be different.
Valuable time and money can be wasted.
That is why successful startups focus on building an MVP (Minimum Viable Product) first.
An MVP is the simplest version of your product that solves a real problem for your target audience.

Why Start with an MVP?
Validate your idea before making a large investment
Get real feedback from actual users
Launch faster and enter the market sooner
Reduce development costs and risks
Improve your product based on real customer needs
Some of the world's biggest companies, including Airbnb, Dropbox, and Uber, started with simple MVPs before becoming global brands.
The goal is not to build everything at once.
The goal is to build the right thing first.
Start small. Learn fast. Improve continuously.
If you were launching a startup today, would you build a full product first or start with an MVP?
