Top 5 Habits of Successful Programmers

Practice Daily
Code every day, even for 30 minutes. Consistency builds skill faster than long weekly sessions.

Build Real Projects
Create simple apps, games, or tools. Projects help apply concepts and boost confidence.

Read Documentation
Strong coders don’t rely on tutorials forever. They read docs to learn and troubleshoot.

Ask Questions Wisely
When stuck, search first. If needed, ask with clear context and code snippets.

Write Clean Code
Use meaningful names, comments, and organize code. Clean code is easier to debug and scale.

Let's start with the first topic of Java Learning Series:

Java Fundamentals – Data Types, Variables & Operators

What are Data Types in Java?
Data types define what kind of value a variable can store – like numbers, text, true/false.
Java has 2 types of data types:
Primitive (basic)
Non-primitive (reference)

Primitive Data Types (with examples):
int β†’ For whole numbers
Example:
java
int age = 25;

float β†’ For decimal numbers (add β€˜f’ at end)
java
float price = 99.99f;

double β†’ For bigger decimal numbers
java
double distance = 12345.67;

char β†’ For a single character
java
char grade = 'A';

boolean β†’ For true/false values
java
boolean isJavaFun = true;

long, short, byte β†’ For smaller/larger whole numbers
java
long population = 100000000L;

Non-Primitive Data Type (like String):
String β†’ Used for text
java
String name = "Ravi";

What is a Variable?
A variable is like a container where you store a value.

Syntax:
java
dataType variableName = value;

Example:
java
int marks = 85;
String city = "Mumbai";

You can update values later:
java
marks = 90; // now marks is 90

What are Operators in Java?
Operators help us perform actions like adding, comparing, or assigning values.

Arithmetic Operators (used for math):
+ (Addition)
java
int sum = 5 + 3; // 8

- (Subtraction)
java
int diff = 10 - 4; // 6

* (Multiplication)
java
int product = 6 * 2; // 12

/ (Division)
java
int result = 8 / 2; // 4

% (Remainder)
java
int rem = 10 % 3; // 1

Relational / Comparison Operators:
== (equal to)
java
System.out.println(5 == 5); // true

!= (not equal)
java
System.out.println(5 != 3); // true

> (greater than), < (less than), >=, 3); // true

Logical Operators:
&& (AND)
|| (OR)
! (NOT)

Example:
java
int age = 20;
System.out.println(age > 18 && age < 25); // true

Assignment Operators:
= (assign)
java
int x = 10;

+= (add and assign)
java
x += 5; // same as x = x + 5 β†’ x becomes 15

-= (subtract and assign)
java
x -= 2; // x becomes 13

Summary Example:
java
int a = 10;
int b = 5;

int sum = a + b;
boolean isAGreater = a > b;
System.out.println("Sum = " + sum); // 15
System.out.println("A is greater: " + isAGreater); // true

Java Conditional Statements & Loops

Let’s make decision-making & repetition in Java super simple for you!

What is if-else in Java?
if-else helps your program make decisions based on conditions.

Syntax:
java
if (condition) {
// code runs if condition is true
} else {
// code runs if condition is false
}

Example:
java
int age = 18;

if (age >= 18) {
System.out.println("You are eligible to vote.");
} else {
System.out.println("You are not eligible.");
}

Output: You are eligible to vote.

Else-if Ladder
Used when you have multiple conditions to check.

Example:
java
int marks = 75;

if (marks >= 90) {
System.out.println("Grade: A");
} else if (marks >= 75) {
System.out.println("Grade: B");
} else {
System.out.println("Grade: C");
}

Output: Grade: B

What is a Loop in Java?
Loops help you repeat a block of code multiple times.

for Loop – Used when number of repetitions is known

Syntax:
java
for (int i = 1; i

Advanced C++ OOP Interview Questions & Answers

What is Multiple Inheritance in C++?
Answer:
A class can inherit from more than one base class.
cpp
class A { };
class B { };
class C : public A, public B { }; // C inherits from A & B

What are Virtual Base Classes?
Answer:
Used to avoid duplication of base class data in case of diamond inheritance.
cpp
class A { };
class B : virtual public A { };
class C : virtual public A { };
class D : public B, public C { };

What is Pure Virtual Function & Abstract Class?
Answer:
A function declared with = 0 is pure virtual.
An abstract class has at least one pure virtual function.
cpp
class Shape {
public:
virtual void draw() = 0; // pure virtual
};

What is Function Overriding vs Hiding?
Answer:
Overriding: Redefining a base class’s virtual function in the derived class.
Hiding: A derived class function hides a base class function if signatures differ.

What is the Role of V-Table and V-Pointer?
Answer:
V-Table: Stores addresses of virtual functions.
V-Pointer: Each object with virtual functions has a pointer to its class's v-table. Enables dynamic dispatch.

What is Dynamic_cast?
Answer:
Used for safe downcasting in polymorphic classes. Returns nullptr if cast fails.
cpp
Base* b = new Derived();
Derived* d = dynamic_cast(b);

What is Object Slicing?
Answer:
When a derived class object is assigned to a base class object, derived parts are sliced off.

Can a Constructor be Virtual in C++?
Answer:
No. Constructors can’t be virtual because they’re used to create the v-table.

What is CRTP (Curiously Recurring Template Pattern)?
Answer:
A C++ idiom where a class template takes its own derived class as a parameter.
cpp
template
class Base { };
class Derived : public Base { };

What are Smart Pointers and Their Role in OOP?
Answer:
Smart pointers (unique_ptr, shared_ptr, weak_ptr) manage object lifetimes automatically and prevent memory leaks β€” essential for RAII (Resource Acquisition Is Initialization).
