We’re excited to announce a powerful collaboration between Friends of Figma Lahore and SOFTEC 2026, bringing together designers, developers, and problem solvers to explore the future of design-driven innovation.

SOFTEC (Software Exhibition and Competition) is Pakistan’s biggest IT extravaganza, held annually at FAST NUCES Lahore since 1995. Recognized as a pioneer in promoting a creative and tech-savvy culture, it brings together students, developers, designers, and industry leaders from across the country.

Join us for an immersive hands-on workshop, “Figma with AI,” where we explore how artificial intelligence is transforming the design workflow. In just 90 minutes, discover how AI-powered tools in Figma can help you design faster, think smarter, and unlock new levels of creativity.

Lahore's design scene needs you. Too many talented students miss out on real skills, networks, and opportunities, believing design is only for a "chosen few." Our Fellowship changes that, making UX/UI, marketing, and creative leadership accessible to everyone.

About Friends of Figma Lahore:
Building Pakistan's design ecosystem since 2019. We've empowered 1500+ designers in Lahore through workshops, events, and collabs – now with official Figma backing for the Config Watch Party!

About the Fellowship:
A 3-month hybrid journey for passionate individuals (16+) from any background – students, freelancers, pros. Led by our core team, you'll train weekly, tour studios, and lead real events.

Limited to 30 spots – apply before they're gone!

What You’ll Do:
→ Hands-on weekly training in design skills, comms, soft skills, personal branding, and your chosen role.
→ Exclusive industry tours to Lahore's top studios.

The hype was real. The crowd was real. Gujranwala showed up.

For the first time ever, Gujranwala became home to a thriving design community meetup and the energy was unreal.

Friends of Figma Lahore in collaboration with Devsloop Technologies hosted, the AI Native Design Jam – Gujranwala Edition, brought together some of the brightest minds in the region.

A key highlight of AI Design Era 2026 was our Panel Discussion, where industry practitioners shared thoughtful perspectives on how the role of designers is evolving in the age of AI.

The panel featured Ali Qureshi (Senior Product Designer at AutoLeep), Muhammad Asfar Mustafa (Systems Limited), and Ali Zubairi (Product Designer at Al Ghuzair), and was expertly moderated by Hurmat Zahra (UX/UI Designer at CureMD & Community Manager at Friends of Figma Lahore).

The discussion explored not only how AI is changing workflows, but also the responsibility, mindset, and direction designers must bring into this new era.

Ali Qureshi shared an important perspective on accountability in the AI age. While AI helps us design faster and meet deadlines, the real responsibility lies with designers to question the experiences being created.
He emphasized that designers are now the checkpoint of ethics and intent, asking whether an experience should exist in the first place and helping guide the direction in which AI builds products.

Muhammad Asfar Mustafa highlighted that the real differentiator in the AI era is mindset, not just skills.
With the pace of change becoming exponential, where tools and skills can become outdated quickly, what truly matters is the ability to adapt, focus on quality, and continuously put in the effort.

As he shared, skills may become easier to acquire with AI, but mindset and the commitment to quality will remain the real advantage.

At AI Design Era 2026: The Next Frontier, we had the privilege of hosting Yasir Siddique, who delivered an insightful keynote on “AI Tooling: From Craft to Superpowers.”

Yasir shared a powerful perspective on how designers and builders should rethink the way they work in the age of AI. His core message was simple yet transformative: AI should not replace us, it should amplify us.

One of the key takeaways from his talk was the importance of identifying repetitive and low-value tasks in our daily workflows and **automating them with AI tools**. By doing so, creators can free up their time and energy for work that truly matters, creativity, decision-making, and technical problem solving.

As Yasir emphasized:
It’s not you vs AI, it’s you multiplied by AI.

His session encouraged designers, founders, and developers to constantly rethink their workflows and ask themselves a critical question every day:
How can I perform better than yesterday using the tools available to me?
