Preparing Our Leaders for an AI-Enabled Future.

Leadership today means preparing for tomorrow.

Our recent Agency VA Leadership Summit brought our managers together to focus on AI readiness and the role leaders play in helping teams adapt to evolving technology.

The goal? Prepare our people, improve our processes, and use AI to support more effective work.

Because the future of work isn't about technology alone. It's about people who know how to use it well.

Prepared leaders. Empowered teams. Smarter operations.

What steps are you taking to prepare your team for AI?

There was a time when asking questions was part of learning the role.

For an HR manager, that was expected.

There were new procedures, unfamiliar processes, and a lot of moving pieces to understand.

Over time, familiarity changed the way the work was approached.

Instead of immediately asking someone else whenever something changed, the first step became:

Understand what is already known.

Research the issue.

Use available resources.

Try to solve what can be solved independently.

Then, when the situation requires more expertise or another perspective, ask for help.

That balance became part of stronger professional judgment.

Independence does not mean handling everything alone.

It means knowing what you can work through yourself and recognizing when collaboration becomes necessary.

How do you decide when to keep researching and when to ask for help?

There is no single moment when someone suddenly becomes a top performer.

For one top-performing VA at Agency VA Philippines, growth is something you keep working on.

She believes in paying attention to the progress you are making, even when the steps feel small.

She also believes the people around you matter.

Being surrounded by people who encourage you, challenge you, and motivate you can influence the way you approach your own development.

But growth also requires looking honestly at what still needs work.

What could you improve?

What mistake do you need to learn from?

What can you do differently next time?

Small progress may not always feel significant while it is happening.

Over time, those improvements can change the way you work.

What is one area you are intentionally working to improve right now?

Clear client communication did not come from confidence alone.

For one VA at Agency VA Philippines, it was built through practice.

His training emphasized a few habits that stayed with him:

Document the work.

Ask precise questions.

Give concise updates.

Explain complex issues clearly.

Those habits became part of how he communicates with client teams today.

The lesson is practical.

Strong communication becomes easier when there is a clear process behind it.

You do not need to say more.

You need to make the right information easier to understand.

What communication habit has made the biggest difference in the way you work?

Sometimes, we inherit challenges we didn't create.

This story reminds us that while we can't control first impressions, we can control how we show up every day.

Consistency has a way of changing perceptions.

Have you ever had to earn someone's trust?

When he first started managing people remotely, one thing became clear:

The signals he relied on in the office were gone.

In person, he could notice when someone looked unwell, arrived late, or seemed different from usual.

Remotely, those cues were harder to see.

At first, much of what he had to work with came through chat.

Over time, he learned that text alone did not always provide enough context.

That is why genuine calls became more important to him.

A person can type that everything is fine.

Their tone may tell a different story.

For him, remote leadership became less about recreating the office online and more about learning new ways to understand people from a distance.

What helps you feel genuinely connected to a manager when working remotely?

Some conversations make people feel smaller.

Others help them become better.

That's the difference between criticizing and coaching.

During one of our recent employee interviews, a Virtual Assistant reflected on why feedback became something they welcomed instead of feared. It wasn't because the conversations were always easy, it was because they knew the intention was to help them grow.

One statement captured that mindset perfectly:
"You can't get better if you don't know what you need to improve."

Great coaching isn't about pointing out what's wrong.

It's about helping people understand what's possible.

When leaders create a safe space for honest conversations, feedback becomes more than correction, it becomes an opportunity to learn, improve, and build confidence.

Do you think people grow more from criticism or from coaching?

There was a time when she thought she was average.

She was doing the work and staying consistent, but when she looked at other VAs, their growth seemed faster.

Hers felt steady.

That comparison eventually turned into self-doubt.

Maybe she was only “okay.”

What changed was not suddenly becoming more talented.

It was changing how she understood high performance.

She began recognizing the value of willingness, consistency, and reliability.

She also started paying attention to the small improvements she had previously overlooked.

Over time, those small signs of progress began to mean something different.

Her experience is a reminder that professional growth does not always look dramatic while it is happening.

Sometimes, you are progressing long before you recognize how far you have come.

What small sign of progress have you learned to appreciate in your own career?
