DILGโ€™s UNIFIED 911 CALL LEADS TO SWIFT ARREST OF A FOREIGN NATIONAL FOR ACTS OF LASCIVIOUSNESS IN SAN JUAN CITY

The Eastern Police District (EPD), through the San Juan City Police Station, promptly responded to a 911 emergency call that led to the arrest of an American national accused of committing acts of lasciviousness against an 18-year-old woman in San Juan City.

The suspect, identified as alias "Andrew," 42, an American citizen, was apprehended following a distress call made by the victim's boyfriend to the national emergency hotline after the victim discreetly sought help while inside a residence in Barangay Sta. Lucia, San Juan City.

Investigation revealed that the victim had been invited by the suspect through WhatsApp and was later brought to a residence in San Juan City. The victim alleged that the suspect subjected her to unwanted sexual advances and inappropriate physical contact both inside a vehicle and later inside the residence.

Fearing for her safety, the victim managed to send her location to her boyfriend. Upon receiving the information, the boyfriend immediately contacted 911, triggering a rapid response from personnel of San Juan City Police Station Sub-Station 2.

Acting swiftly on the emergency call, responding officers in collaboration with Women and Children Protection Desk (WCPD), Brgy. Security Force (BSF), and Women and Children Desk Officer (WCDO) of Brgy. Sta Lucia immediately proceeded to the location, rescued the victim, and placed the suspect under police custody. Both parties were subsequently brought to the WCPD of the San Juan City Police Station for the filing of appropriate charges. The suspect is presently under police custody of San Juan CPS Custodial Facility pending the filing of formal charges for violation of Article 336 of the Revised Penal Code (Acts of Lasciviousness).

Eastern Police District, Acting District Director, Police Brigadier General Melecio M Buslig Jr, commended the responding personnel for their prompt action and emphasized the importance of the 911 Emergency Hotline in ensuring immediate police intervention during emergencies.

"This incident demonstrates the vital role of the 911 Emergency Hotline and the readiness of our police officers to respond to calls for help. The swift coordination between the concerned citizen, the emergency response system, and our personnel enabled the immediate rescue of the victim and the arrest of the suspect. We encourage the public to continue reporting emergencies through 911 so that law enforcement can act without delay." PBGEN Buslig Jr stated.

The Eastern Police District remains committed to protecting women and children, ensuring that reports of abuse and exploitation are acted upon promptly, professionally, and with utmost concern for the safety and welfare of victims
