THE LOCAL ART COMMUNITY NEEDS YOUR HELP.
Hello! I am Kate, an artist, who makes stickers, stationery and other items from my art. There are a lot of us who do this! Some even make a living out of it. We sell our items online, through consignments, and in physical pop-ups called art markets.
Currently, an issue with a certain art market organizer is deeply affecting the local art community. I will spare you the details but I can tell you it’s really bad and they owe the affected artists millions of pesos.
That organizer has an art market in SMX Clark in Angeles, Pampanga this weekend (May 30-31). The situation has gotten too much out of hand that a lot of the artists backed out.
There are also some who chose to push through in hopes of getting any sales they could to make up for the financial losses incurred from the mismanagement of said organizers. (That doesn’t even include the pending refunds.)
I implore the help of my fellow* Kapampangans in a call to support the participating artists at this weekend’s event in SMX Clark.
The fiasco has left the art community in shambles enough to affect the expected turnout of the event. This will negatively affect the remaining artists who chose to push through, coming from different parts of the country, and trying to recover from losses due to cancelled accommodations, transportation plans, cost of materials for production, etc.
Please help me support these artists by spreading the word about the event. I don’t want to name the event to prevent unnecessary promotion of the organizers but please tell your friends, family, and acquaintances in Pampanga. It’s on May 30 and 31, SMX Clark Function Halls 1-3.
Even if you aren’t interested in going, yourself, please help share so anyone interested would know.
Thank you for helping the small local art businesses, just trying to make ends meet and recover from losses.
