Conceptualization
The lineage of ACES traces back to August 1969, when an ambitious inter-university groupโalso called the Association of Civil Engineering Studentsโwas formed. FEU was a cornerstone of this movement, joining forces with elite engineering programs from Far Eastern Air Transport Incorporated (FEATI) University, Mapua Institute of Technology (Currently known as Mapua University), Manuel L. Quezon University, National University, Polytechnic University of the Philippines, University of Santo Tomas, and University of the Philippines - Diliman Campus. While its roots go back to 1969, the organization was formally established in its current iteration in 2001 following the reopening of the College of Engineering. Since its formalization in 2006 under the branding Junior Philippine Institute of Civil Engineers, and rebranding to Association of Civil Engineers as Junior Philippine Institute of Civil Engineers - Lungsod ng Maynilad Student Chapter was founded in 2007, ACES has been the primary driver of student-led initiatives within FEU East Asia College, and in currently known as FEU Institute of Technology.
