ByteDance rolls out Seedance 2.0 globally.

Seedance 2.0 is advancing what text-to-video models can do. Using diffusion-based video generation, the model is trained on large-scale motion and visual datasets to produce more coherent scenes, smoother transitions, and better control over elements like lighting and movement, resulting in outputs that feel more fluid and realistic.

It’s impressive, but also raises the same question: How do we tell what’s real when everything starts to look real?

Smell used to be a human-only sense - until now. AI is learning to detect and interpret scents with a precision far beyond our noses.

E-Nose can identify complex scent patterns, analyze volatile gases, and even help develop fragrances faster and more efficiently than traditional methods.

Potential applications are already profound:
- Early detection of diseases through breath or body odors.
- Sniffing out chemical hazards, pollutants, or unsafe air quality.
- Optimizing fragrances, foods, and beverages faster and with more precision than ever before.
- Helping customers make confident purchases of scent-based products online.

Last year, Companies, for collaborated with to create its AI Scent Advisor, an AI chatbot designed to solve one of online shopping’s biggest challenges: how to experience a fragrance without smelling it. It drove massive ROI - online shoppers using the tool and made purchases at almost double the rate of those who didn’t.

From labs to e-commerce, the E-Nose shows that AI isn’t just seeing or hearing anymore but experiencing the world in ways that were once purely human.

Did you know that playing Pokémon GO helped train the next-gen delivery robots?

Niantic transformed millions of in-game interactions, like battles, gyms, and PokéStops into a massive Visual Positioning System. By capturing over 30 billion real-world images through AR, players mapped landmarks that now allow machines like Coco delivery fleets to navigate the physical world with precision that GPS alone can’t match.

While Niantic maintains that all visual data is anonymized, optional, and not linked to personal info, the debate remains: how much privacy are we willing to trade for convenience?
