What do you do while waiting for a big load of laundry to finish---- finally catch up on long overdue IG posts🤭. No rain or floods will wash away the memory of that colorful, local loving Sunday at MaArte Fair !

Honestly, it was quite overwhelming (especially since I only had the afternoon until closing to go around—a whole day would have been ideal, tbh, or even a visit split into two days, time allowing. Wow!). No doubt, ang galing talaga ng Pinoy! Grabe! 😍👏👏

As overwhelmed as I was at times, I had to decide whether I should be documenting for my socials or just enjoying “the now.” I guess you know what “won.” 😆 sorry, bitin ulit ako sa photos🙃..

You can count on our locally made products when it comes to innovative use of materials and festive bursts of color! 😍 much welcome contrast to the gray and rainy days we've been having!

Proud of my "maarte" friend Denise Cacanando~ Artist💫 Denise C✨ for getting her Maarte dream ticked off! 😁🥰 congrats muli! Time to catch up on sleep, he he!

Handmade, human made dainty floral earrings by Denise Cacanando~ Artist💫 Denise C✨ 😊 these are made from upcycled plastic.🫶

Adding booths for local publishers, books in local fairs was such a great idea😁✨️. Hello po, Sir Ambeth Ocampo 😊

As a fan of author and historian Ambeth Ocampo!😁

*Rizal Without the Overcoat* has always been one of those history-related books my mom would recommend—or simply leave out in the sala for anyone to read—during national holidays like Araw ng Kagitingan or Araw ng Kalayaan. I finally have my own copy (and got it autographed!) in its new edition. 🥰

Would recommend this book for your “tsismosa sa history” na friend😁🇵🇭. Glad to have seen its new edition at Maarte😊.

So many beautiful things, so little time (and so little shopping funds.😆 Hehe).

I can only hope for better wages for Filipinos, so more pinoys can afford to support local brands that, in turn, value the time and craftsmanship of their local makers—and pay them fairly for it.

I may seem crazy for dreaming this. Nagtaas na ang mga bilihin, I know, pero libre pa rin naman mangarap. ❤️

In the meantime, pde paki-kulong na muna ang mga kurakot at singilin kung nasaan na ang mga flood control projects. (!!)

Namiss kita, haring araw!🥰🌞🌞. Mood lifted🫶.Grateful for today! Happy weekend😊

A country just "next door" but with no such thing as storm signals, no tropical cyclones, low risk for earthquakes?! Di ako makapaniwala..Ang swerte naman ng Malaysia.😆

Remembering what our Malaysian tour guide said in our recent trip to KL----"we have booooring weather here!"

Tama nga ata sabi ng iba na if you can survive living in the Philippines (with our storms, floods, traffic, earthquakes) you can pretty much survive anywhere😁. i think we could use their "boring weather" here in the PH.😅. Missing the sun and KL!

Hoping you are safe and dry in this gloomy and rainy afternoon..☔️🇵🇭. Curious how the flood control projects are fairing..I hope the newly constructed flood detention basins are doing it's job! Time to put these things to test😊. Mukhang nagpapaalala ang mother nature sa flood control issue😁.

About today..Nagising ng 10am na, na para bang siya ang sumabak sa finals ng WTA 500!😆 .

This morning's "celebratory drink": cacao tea, served with my sampaguita florals and a quick sketch to off load all the emotions into..🫶

what.a.milestone.what a journey.👏👏

Huhuhu our very own WTA 500 champion! Grit and grace, patience and mindset over power. Isa kang inspirasyon🥹 Mabuhay ka, Alexandra Eala !!

What a day for 🇵🇭. Good night!

Go to Europe, and it can feel like you've stepped into the pages of a classic fairytale—different weather, different pace, a different kind of mindspace.

Then you hop "over the bakod" to our Southeast Asian neighbors like Malaysia. It still feels close to home, very familiar somehow, yet different enough to make you pause.

"Uy, parang EDSA lang... pero less traffic."
"Parang mrt natin ah... pero may mas bagong trains"

Growing up, we read about many of these neighboring countries in our textbooks—places whose histories and struggles once didn't seem all that different from ours. Visiting them now makes you wonder how differently things could have unfolded in the Philippines.

Another SONA has come and gone.
I hope one day, these comparisons become stories of how far we've come.

Kumusta na, Pinas?🇵🇭

This weekend's slow down looked like winnowing, grinding, tempering, and molding cacao tableya. 🤎

Papa plants and takes care of harvesting duties, Mama and my brother winnow and grind, while my sisters and I temper, mold... and chika. 🤭 I guess this is our family's way of staying connected—keeping our hands busy with little "family projects" that take time but somehow still bring everyone together even as adults. The little Bisaya in me is saying, *"Labor of love ngani."😅

Weekends in Antipolo also look like tsokolate-stained bowls waiting to be washed, tea bags drying for Mama's flowering plants, and greener views outside the window. 🌱💐

If you've been missing my paintings, I'm missing them too. Hoping to find my way back to them soon. For now, I'm grateful for this slower weekend and the reminder that it's okay to pause.🫶 Puwede magpahinga.😊 Happy, rainy weekend! Ingat sa daan..

"450 meters lang naman. Mga 6 minutes sabi ni google maps," I told myself. Kaya kong lakarin for a Lazada order. It felt like a good excuse to get some steps in before coffee. 😅

Apparently... hindi pala iyon ang best idea kapag antok ka pa.

Friday morning walk recap:
• 70% of the route had sidewalks... pero let's just say, *existing* didn't always mean *walkable*. 😅
• Around 20% lang ang maayos.
• I almost sprained my ankle once.
• On a few stretches, I had to walk on the road alongside cars, motorcycles, and jeeps.

When I reached the drop-off point, the staff told me they couldn't accept the package. 🫠 But after a little negotiating, I stumbled upon a tiny neighborhood shop that had everything—from hardware to packaging supplies to school items. Instant lifesaver.✨️

On the way back, I spotted a vendor grilling fresh tupig. (If you haven't tried it, imagine sticky rice with young coconut wrapped in banana leaves.) Morning officially redeemed.😋

Later, I restocked at ATC and the Atrium, and the contrast in the walking experience was hard to miss. It reminded me that safe, walkable streets shouldn't only exist around major commercial areas. We still have a long way to go. I couldn't help but think of the people who had to navigate roads like these every single day. Saludo ako sa inyo!

To everyone who commuted or walked to work today, I hope you made it safely----and found something that made you smile along the way. Sana naging mabait ang Monday commute niyo to work.🌿

This afternoon's reason for a little happy dance🥰---5 orders of my Sampaguita scarf on its(looong) way to 🇺🇸. I know i've been sharing my art merch for years now yet these little wins always make me feel like as if i won the lottery.🥰. Maraming salamat sa suporta!🫶

I hope my Sibol scarf carries a little piece of home—the familiar florals many of us grew up with, a reminder of our roots, and of the gentle strength we often forget we have.

To every Filipino finding their way wherever they are: keep dreaming, blooming, and showing up. 🇵🇭😊

Minsanan na *tiis ganda* under the KL heat, wrapped in my Sibol Sampaguita scarf… because I still very much have **Alex Eala fever**. 🎾

Her Wimbledon journey may have ended last night, but the best is yet to come! Salamat sa laban, sa inspirasyon, at sa pusoooo, Alex. 💛🇵🇭

Wearing my Sibol scarf felt extra meaningful—a little reminder of home while wandering somewhere new.😊

One of my favorite things about Malaysia is how quickly the scenery changes. One evening, I was in the lively streets of Kuala Lumpur's Chinatown, sneaking peeks at Alex's heart stopping match against Iga while exploring. The next day, I was admiring the Moorish beauty of the newly renovated Abdul Samad Building—and, of course, happily browsing the beautifully curated souvenir shops and cafés nearby. 😍

Travel has a way of reminding me that home isn't just a place. Sometimes, it's the little things we choose to carry with us. 🇵🇭🌿

A bit of trivia: this moorish heritage building features a a clock tower. It was built to centralize all the British administrative offices.
