Anime News: The official website of Sekka Iwata and Yu Aoki's "Magilumiere Company Limited" announces the details, including new cast members for the upcoming second season, which will be streamed on Amazon Prime Video on Sunday, July 5th.

The additional cast for the anime series is Sayumi Watabe as Iroha Akasaka, a very intelligent person being able to perform precise calculations in a very short time. She is a very observant person, in addition to having the ability to learn quickly. Despite having no experience as a magical girl, she was able to help Magilumiere.

It also added that Mariko Higashiuchi will be the new voice of Hitomi Koshigaya, replacing Yumiri Hanamori. Hitomi is a resident magical girl prodigy who mentors Kana Sakuragi and is the public face of the firm. In February 2026, Hanamori announced that she would not return for the new season.

The original series centers on Kana Sakuragi, a university graduate student who works at Magilumiere and possesses an excellent memory. She meets Hitomi Koshigaya, a resident magical girl prodigy who mentors Kana and is the public face of the firm.

Together, they involve exterminating Kaii, a genetic monster who can absorb magical power known as residual magic, which allows them to evolve. When exorcised or sealed, they release a gem called a magic crystal.

Music News: The official YouTube channel of Japanese publisher Ichijinsha releases a special music video of "Identity Meltdown" performed by VAs Marika Kouno and Kaori Ishihara, where the song is originally performed by Enako and Pmarusama from the OP of Nekotofu's "Onimai: I'm Now Your Sister" anime, released in January 2023. They are also playing their roles in the drama CD and an anime. Kouno played the role of Mahiro, and Ishihara played the role of Mihari.

The story centers on Mahiro Oyama, a 20-year-old male shut-in who spends his days locked in his room until he transforms into a young girl. His sister is Mihari Oyama, Mahiro's younger sister and a child prodigy who skipped grades to attend the university, and became a mad scientist behind Mahiro's transformation.

When Mahiro eats Mihari's drug experiments, he transforms into a middle-school-aged girl. Mihari's experimental drug was a success, and her goal is to rehabilitate her brother by forcing him to experience adolescence all over again in the real world. Mahiro decided to make new friends and reconnect in the outside world, finding joy and unexpected comfort in his new everyday life.

The manga series began online in February 2017, and Ichijinsha's Monthly Comic Rex magazine published the series in April 2019, and released it in 11 book volumes, including the upcoming 11th volume to be released on Wednesday, May 27th. Kodansha USA acquired the series and released it digitally in August 2021. It also received achievements, including 5th runner-up in the Web Manga category at the Next Manga Award in 2018 and 9th runner-up in the Web Manga Overall Election in 2019.

It was adapted into a 12-episode anime series that aired in January 2023, where the series placed in AnimeJapan's Most Wanted Anime Adaptation Poll, including 3rd runner-up in 2020 and 7th runner-up in 2021.

Stage News: The official website of Yukinobu Tatsu's "Dandadan" announces the details, including the cast and staff for the stage play under "Dandadan on Stage -Occultic Stage-", to be held at the Nippon Seinenkan Hall in Tokyo from August 26th to September 3rd, and at the Sky Theater MBS in Osaka from September 11th to 13th.

The cast for the stage play includes Yuiri Murayama as Momo Ayase, a high school girl who believes in ghosts and the supernatural after she is abducted by Serpo aliens, where she discovers she has psychokinetic powers, allowing her to visualize the auras of people and objects, and visualizes her power as giant hands to grab and control these auras.

Raimu Ninomiya as Ken "Okarun" Takakura, a shy and friendless high school boy who tries to connect with Ayase over their shared interests in the supernatural. The transformed Okarun is played by Hiroki Hyakuna.

Imagine Ito of Umebo is directing the stage play, together with Shinjiro Kameda is writing the scripts, Ryo Konishi is composing the music, and Tatsu is supervising the stage play.

The manga series was published in Shueisha's Shonen Jump+ in April 2021 and released in 24 book volumes, including the upcoming 24th volume, to be released on Thursday, June 4th. Viz Media acquired the series, released in English in October 2022. It also received achievements, including the winner of the Shogakukan Manga Award in 2026.

It was adapted into 3 seasons of the anime series that aired in October 2024, including the upcoming third season, which will air in 2027, where the series won the Crunchyroll Anime Awards, including a 2-time Best Anime Opening Sequence in 2025 and 2026, and Best Comedy Anime in 2026.

News: Kadokawa announced that the Da Vinci magazine will end its publishing with the November 2026 issue, which serves as the final issue on Tuesday, October 6th.

The Da Vinci Web will continue, and Kadokawa plans to continue releasing new content and development for the website. Kadokawa noted the dramatic changes in the current publishing marketplace and the diversification of how readers take in news and information.

Da Vinci magazine is a monthly magazine created by Recruit Company, featuring Yoshi Kimura as the publisher, Yasuhiro Nagazono as the editor-in-chief, and Toshiki Ichikawa as the art director, released in 1994.

It is a book information magazine that introduces new publications, popular books, and comics, which features essays by famous people, reader-submitted columns, questionnaires, special features on the relationship between the world and books from a new perspective, and a wide range of information on new paperbacks, new books, and new comics.

The Da Vinci Book of the Year is an annual ranking that started in 2001. The ranking is not simply based on sales order, but on the votes of book connoisseurs such as book critics, bookstore employees, Da Vinci survey members, and reading meter users from all over Japan.
