Stage News: The official website of Yukinobu Tatsu's "Dandadan" announces the details, including the cast and staff for the stage play under "Dandadan on Stage -Occultic Stage-", to be held at the Nippon Seinenkan Hall in Tokyo from August 26th to September 3rd, and at the Sky Theater MBS in Osaka from September 11th to 13th.
The cast for the stage play includes Yuiri Murayama as Momo Ayase, a high school girl who believes in ghosts and the supernatural after she is abducted by Serpo aliens, where she discovers she has psychokinetic powers, allowing her to visualize the auras of people and objects, and visualizes her power as giant hands to grab and control these auras.
Raimu Ninomiya as Ken "Okarun" Takakura, a shy and friendless high school boy who tries to connect with Ayase over their shared interests in the supernatural. The transformed Okarun is played by Hiroki Hyakuna.
Imagine Ito of Umebo is directing the stage play, together with Shinjiro Kameda is writing the scripts, Ryo Konishi is composing the music, and Tatsu is supervising the stage play.
The manga series was published in Shueisha's Shonen Jump+ in April 2021 and released in 24 book volumes, including the upcoming 24th volume, to be released on Thursday, June 4th. Viz Media acquired the series, released in English in October 2022. It also received achievements, including the winner of the Shogakukan Manga Award in 2026.
It was adapted into 3 seasons of the anime series that aired in October 2024, including the upcoming third season, which will air in 2027, where the series won the Crunchyroll Anime Awards, including a 2-time Best Anime Opening Sequence in 2025 and 2026, and Best Comedy Anime in 2026.
