⚠️ Typhoon Uwan Update: A Looming Threat Over the Philippines
Good morning, everyone. We are delivering an urgent news update regarding Typhoon Uwan (international name: Fung-wong), which is rapidly intensifying over the Philippine Sea and posing an extreme threat to many parts of Luzon and the Visayas.
As of the latest bulletins (issued around November 9, 2025), Typhoon Uwan is moving in a West-Northwestward direction. Current projections indicate it may reach peak intensity—potentially a Super Typhoon level—before or near its expected landfall over the southern portion of Isabela or the northern portion of Aurora late Sunday evening or early Monday morning (November 10).
This is a life-threatening storm with the potential for destructive winds, torrential rainfall (exceeding 200mm in some areas), widespread flooding and landslides, and extremely dangerous storm surges that may exceed 3 meters in height along exposed coastal areas.
Immediate actions are advised: Residents in high-risk areas are strongly urged to complete pre-emptive evacuations and secure their homes immediately. Please heed the warnings of local government units (LGUs) and disaster risk reduction and management councils (DRRMCs).
