POSITION TITLE: NETWORK ENGINEER
Work Location: Quezon City
SUMMARY
This is a role for Network a technician who helps implement, maintain, and support the Quanta
Services growing network infrastructure. A candidate with a wide range of networking
experience supporting enterprise networks would be an ideal candidate. Cisco centric
experience is relevant for this role. This is a supporting role to a global network team. This role
will primarily be supporting the team during off hours, doing initial tirage of afterhours
incidents, firmware updates, batch processing of requests.
ESSENTIAL/ NON-ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Network Operations
• Help operate a Global network, specifically aspects around local area switching,
wireless, and VoIP.
Incident Triage
• Take initial calls around network incidents, assess the situation and resolve, log or
escalate as appropriate.
Firmware Updates
• Firmware updates are key to avoid vulnerabilities, also as avoiding business disruption is
key. Due to this, we need to do disruptive updates after mostly US centric business
hours.
Processing batch requests
• Operating a global network has lots of details. Needing a candidate who is very detail
oriented to help ensure all appropriate tools have consistent information.
Knowledge Management
• Solicits, collaborates on and authors, review and/or edit client facing knowledge content
to enable self-service and lowest cost of service.
• Takes ownership of and periodically reviews client facing knowledge bases content for
accuracy, completeness, and continuing applicability.
General Functions
• Adheres to internal standards, policies, and procedures.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Required Skills and Experience:
• Minimum of 7 years of experience required, including at least 2 years in Information
Systems and 5 years with a large enterprise company.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Experience providing support via phone (call center operations)
• Experience supporting Cisco network equipment.
• Network Troubleshooting skills
• Experience working with IT Service Management systems.
• Experience working with IT Asset Management systems.
• Experience working with Remote Support tools.
• Experience working with Knowledge Bases.
• Other Customer Service/Facing related roles can be considered a plus.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
• CCNA or above
• Experience with SolarWinds (or other monitoring tools)
• Experience with Service Now ITSM and CMDB
• Experience with Network Access Control technologies
• Full range of Cisco equipment experience including firewalls
• Experience with other Network hardware vendors
• ITIL Foundation (Information Technology Information Library) – Preferred
• Scripting and or Automation (Python, Ansible etc)
