🌐 Connecting communities across PNG! Enabling progress.

Today marks a major step forward for digital transformation in Papua New Guinea! Telikom Limited and the Department of Provincial and Local Government Affairs (DPLGA) formalised a Memorandum of Understanding to support nationwide connectivity for the National Ward Record System (NWRS), an important initiative that will help strengthen citizen registration, planning and service delivery across Papua New Guinea.

As the NWRS is rolled out across all 374 Local Level Governments and 6,912 wards nationwide, reliable connectivity will play a critical role in ensuring every community can participate in a modern, connected digital future.

Through this partnership, Telikom will provide the connectivity solutions through our fixed, mobile and Starlink satellite solutions; infrastructure and technical support needed to help connect even the most remote parts of the country, reinforcing our commitment to nation-building and digital inclusion.

As PNG's nationally owned telecommunications company and authorised reseller of Starlink services, we're proud to support initiatives that help create opportunities for all Papua New Guineans.

Together, we ran, walked, laughed, and celebrated the spirit of unity while helping raise awareness and funds for vital community healthcare initiatives. It was inspiring to see so many people come together, proving that when we stand as one, we can make a lasting difference.

Telikom Partners with DICT to Advance Papua New Guinea's Digital Future

Telikom has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), reinforcing our commitment to supporting Papua New Guinea's digital transformation agenda through innovation, collaboration and technology.

The partnership will strengthen cooperation in advancing Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI), including digital identity, digital services and emerging technologies that will improve connectivity and create greater opportunities for businesses, government and communities across the country.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Telikom Chief Executive Officer Amos Tepi said the MoU reflects the importance of collaboration in delivering the Government's digital vision.

"Telikom has evolved beyond being a traditional telecommunications provider. While we continue to deliver reliable fixed, mobile and internet services, we are increasingly focused on technology-driven solutions that help transform businesses and support Papua New Guinea's digital economy. This partnership with DICT allows us to work together to accelerate that transformation."

DICT Secretary Steven Matainaho welcomed the partnership, highlighting the important role of State Owned Enterprises in driving the adoption of Digital Public Infrastructure and building a secure, connected digital ecosystem for Papua New Guinea.

The MoU signing formed part of a broader initiative by DICT, with four other organisations also entering into partnership agreements to support Papua New Guinea's digital transformation agenda. Collectively, these partnerships will help accelerate the adoption of digital technologies, strengthen collaboration across key sectors, and contribute to building a more connected and digitally empowered nation.
