RIP champ🙏

🚨DEATH NOTICE🚨
It is with a heavy heart to announce the passing of Late Matalau Nakikus of the legendary Barike Band. He has gone to rest in eternal peace. 🕊️

Matalau was a true icon of Papua New Guinean music, a founding member and the unforgettable voice of Barike Band since its inception in 1981 in Rabaul. His contributions to the PNG music scene are immeasurable, and his legacy will forever resonate through the countless lives he touched with his music. He will be especially remembered for his role in creating "Wan Kantri," a song that became an anthem of unity for our nation.

We will forever cherish his talent, his passion, and his unwavering dedication to sharing the beauty of PNG through music.

Rest in Eternal Peace Bro!! Yoko yoko tam ati!!

My deepest condolences to the entire Nakikus family during this time of profound grief. May you find strength and comfort in the love and memories he leaves behind. His music will live on, and his spirit will forever be with us.
