Love Lost to the Solomon Sea is very special to me not only because it is my Debut Novel but because as a Melenesian, we feel someone else's pain and suffering.
It’s not easy for a soft heart to digest what happened in the early hours of February 2, 2012.
Many have moved on with life, but those who were victims or who have lost their loved ones that day may still be carrying the weight of that traumatic experience.
What scares me is that many of those or similar stories will never be told. History has claimed that many lives were lost to the sea, so many dreams were shattered and washed away by the angry waves.
Our hearts still feel the aching pain. For many, there was no chance to say goodbye. All we can do now is to remember them. To hold their memories close to our hearts and never let them fade, even as the years pass.
I started writing this Novel in 2022 and finally published it in 2025, with the hope that it gives voice to those memories of the worst maritime disasters ever. For many, the pain still feels as fresh as if it had happened yesterday.
That’s why I’m reaching out with a heartfelt request to individuals, schools, bookstores, and businesses across Papua New Guinea. Please grab a copy for yourself.
As a Papua New Guinean writer, I know how hard it is for local authors to get our books into PNG bookstores. This book is also available on Amazon, but with your help, it can still reach every home, school, and library right here in PNG.
Thank you for believing in me. And thank you for trusting my ink. The most priceless thing you can do is share this post, I’d truly appreciate it.
