Desecrate ART

Alexis Salvador (1986) is a peruvian, illustrator / concept artist / designer, who with his “profane art” has been quietly conquering spaces in the United States, United Kingdom, Mexico, Australia, Norway, Canada and others, doing works of digital illustration for rock bands and independet brands under the brand name Desecrate ART, creating art inspired by zombies, monsters and creatures. build towers with blocks of lego; They take a pen like microphone to sing; or they are like the little Alexis in their years of early childhood, when his teacher asked him to draw animals or characters from fairy tales books. It was’t so hard to guess that Alexis would follow his way towards the art world because the artistic blood runs through his veins. Salvador comes from a family of artists, like his father Victor Salvador, known as “Salvo”, a plastic artist who also specializes in oil paintings. Spreading infection

DesecrateART began at the year of 2008, while he was working in a publishing company, doing illustrations for storybooks, book covers among others. As himself express “I really realized that I wasn’t doing I wanted to do. My thing was always drawing weird stuff, skulls, demons, mutants; those stuff that my mom doesn’t like till day of today, but that’s my passion. So I made the decition to be independent, start from scratch, creating new designs and look for customers.”

MySpace (social network) was the showcase of his new inspiration, as a freelancer, he began to expose his ART to the world. It was not easy to start from scratch, but his talent, commitment and patience gave results. Alexis was choosen by a new american metalcore band called Memphis May Fire, who had launched a “T-shirt design contest” for the creation of new merch. Inspired by their song “Ghost in the mirror”, The design of Alexis named “Zombie In The Mirror” was the winner, this allowed him access to more bands that would increase his portfolio of artwork. His designs created for prints on clothes, album covers, skateboard decks and others, are inspired by creatures and freaks characters, old peruvian cultures, or his own musical tastes that go through genres like punk rock and heavy metal. Also clasic horror movies like “Night of the Living Dead” (1990), “Evil dead” (1981), “The Return of the Living Dead” (1985) or more contemporary films like “Underworld” (2003), “Van Hellsing” (2004) and others.
