Rotorua Repair Café

Repair Cafés are free pop-up events where local people bring in their broken or damaged belongings and local volunteer experts do their best to repair them.

Well - Last Rotorua Repair Café was definitely busy! I’ve just had time to load the stats. We had double the number of items we expected and if we hadn’t had a few unavoidable cancellations it would have been almost our busiest day ever. 💃🥳

We’d love some more volunteers to join us! The commitment is only 2 hours per month, and would be even less if we had more to help! We‘d love another registered electrician, and a general handyperson to take the pressure off, so if you think you can help, please message!

Thank you everyone who supports the Rotorua Repair Café we are so delighted that you choose to make a difference! Thank you too to our Volunteers - some have been with us from the beginning, some are very new. You're all champions!

Repair Cafe tomorrow 18th July 10am-12pm at The Arts Village !
FIX, FIX, FIX...This is what our Volunteers turn up for each month - to help keep your items going another round, instead of onto the landfill! See what we've all achieved in Rotorua?

If you've got some skills to share, we'd really love to know about them, and grow our repair kaupapa. 2 hours, once a month, that's all... and not even that if we get more of you to help!

Come and join us, we're lovely!

Register your items for repair quick smart.

And in other news...Vacuum cleaners!! Having just realized that somewhere along the line we'd left one of the filters out of ours, dirt will have got where it shouldn't 😭.

Got me wondering... Should we do a vacuum cleaner maintenance workshop in the future? Stick vacuums, pull along pet vacuums or robo versions. What are your thoughts? Let us know below ⬇️⬇️
