10 years of bike coverage 🚲

From 2018 through to the 2027 model year, Bike Matrix now has coverage spanning a decade of bikes.

As we continue to ensure coverage for emerging 2027 models, it's interesting to see classic bike models evolve over time- think the Stumpjumper, Fuel EX, and Stereo.

Model names riders have known for years, but the bikes themselves have changed dramatically.

Different frames. Different standards. Different axles, brakes, drivetrains, and component requirements.

Focus Bikes has always been one of those brands that doesn’t need to shout to be noticed.

Born out of Germany in the early 1990s and founded by cyclocross world champion Mike Kluge, the brand built its reputation the way most good cycling brands do — through performance, precision engineering, and bikes that quietly end up under serious riders.

From the race-focused Izalco Max road platform to a rapidly expanding eBike range spanning commuter, touring, and eMTB categories, Focus has continued to evolve without losing sight of its original DNA: bikes that are built to be ridden hard and ridden often.

The Izalco Max in particular has become something of a benchmark — a no-nonsense, race-ready road bike that reflects the brand’s commitment to lightweight performance and sharp handling. Partnerships like this are fundamental to what we’re building at Bike Matrix.
